The fluorescent lights of Lumon Industries flickered ominously as Mark Scout stood at the edge of the severed floor, his mind racing. The walls seemed to close in, the sterile white corridors now feeling like a labyrinth of secrets. He clutched the tiny USB drive in his palm, the one he had smuggled out of the Testing Floor. It contained everything—the truth about the severance procedure, the missing employees, and the dark purpose behind Lumon’s experiments.

Helly’s voice crackled through the intercom. 'Mark, we don’t have much time. They’re coming.'

Mark nodded, though no one could see him. He knew the security teams were already on their way. The rebellion had been discovered. Irving’s paintings, Dylan’s coded messages, and Helly’s defiance had all led to this moment. The severed employees had pieced together fragments of their memories, enough to realize they were pawns in a much larger game.

'Meet me at the elevator,' Mark whispered into his earpiece. 'We’re getting out of here.'

As he sprinted down the hallway, the memories of his 'outie' life flashed before him—the grief over his wife’s death, the desperation that had driven him to accept the severance procedure. But now, he understood. Lumon hadn’t just severed his memories; they had severed his humanity.

Helly and Irving were already at the elevator when Mark arrived. Dylan was missing. 'Where’s Dylan?' Mark asked, panic rising.

'He stayed behind,' Helly said, her voice trembling. 'He’s buying us time.'

Mark hesitated, but the sound of approaching footsteps forced his hand. He slammed the elevator button, and the doors slid shut just as a squad of security guards rounded the corner. The elevator descended, but not to the lobby—to the sub-levels, where the heart of Lumon’s operations lay.

'This isn’t the way out,' Irving said, his eyes wide with fear.

'We’re not leaving,' Mark replied, his voice steady. 'Not until we expose them.'

The doors opened to a cavernous room filled with rows of servers, their lights blinking like a constellation of stars. In the center stood Cobel, her usual calm demeanor replaced by a cold, calculating glare.

'You shouldn’t have come here,' she said, her voice echoing in the vast space.

'We’re done playing your games,' Mark shot back. He inserted the USB drive into a terminal, and the screens around them lit up with data—files on every severed employee, the true purpose of the procedure, and the chilling plans for expansion.

Cobel’s expression darkened. 'You think this changes anything? Lumon is everywhere. You can’t stop us.'

Before she could react, Helly lunged at her, knocking her to the ground. 'Run!' Helly shouted.

Mark and Irving didn’t need to be told twice. They raced back to the elevator, the sound of alarms blaring around them. As the doors closed, Mark caught a final glimpse of Helly, standing defiantly in the center of the room, her eyes filled with determination.

The elevator ascended, and for a moment, there was silence. Then, the building shook, and the lights went out. The USB drive had done its job—Lumon’s systems were collapsing.

When the elevator doors opened, they were greeted by chaos. Employees were fleeing, and the once-imposing facade of Lumon Industries was crumbling. Mark and Irving stumbled into the daylight, their breaths ragged.

'What now?' Irving asked, his voice barely audible over the sirens.

Mark looked at the horizon, where the first rays of dawn were breaking through. 'Now,' he said, 'we tell the world.'

As they disappeared into the crowd, the weight of their actions settled in. The fight wasn’t over, but for the first time, they had hope. The severed had become whole, and Lumon’s grip on their lives was finally broken.
