Job Description
Studio One is a top software development firm. We focus on providing high-quality software solutions to our clients, and we are currently looking for a talented Manual QA Tester to join our vibrant team.
Job responsibilities
- Test Planning: Collaborate with the QA team and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, define test objectives, and develop comprehensive test plans.
- Test Case Design: Create detailed and well-structured test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring adequate coverage of all features and scenarios.
- Test Execution: Execute test cases manually, following established procedures and test scripts, to identify defects, verify bug fixes, and validate system behavior.
- Defect Management: Report and document defects accurately using designated defect tracking tools, providing clear and concise descriptions, steps to reproduce, and relevant supporting information.
- Test Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and organized test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test data, and test results, ensuring traceability and effective knowledge transfer.
- Test Environment Setup: Collaborate with the development team to set up and configure the test environment, including test data preparation, test infrastructure, and any necessary test tools.
- Regression Testing: Conduct regular regression testing to ensure that new features, bug fixes, and system updates do not introduce any unintended side effects or break existing functionality.
- Test Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely test status reports, including metrics, issues, and recommendations, to project stakeholders and QA management.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure clear communication, shared understanding, and timely issue resolution.
Required qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing, preferably in an agile development environment.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems, identify potential issues, and think critically to design effective test cases and validate software functionality.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a systematic approach to test case design, execution, and defect reporting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders, document test artifacts, and report issues clearly.
- Testing Methodologies and Tools: Good understanding of software testing principles, methodologies (including Agile), and commonly used testing tools (e.g., defect tracking, test management).
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and investigate issues, identify root causes, and propose appropriate solutions or workarounds.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and meet project deadlines.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, project requirements, and evolving software development processes.
