Man charged following investigation into historic sexual abuse offences


A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged historic sexual abuse of kids within the state’s Hawkesbury area in the course of the Nineteen Eighties.

Man charged following investigation into historical sexual abuse offences connected to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following numerous reports of alleged youngster sex abuse that occurred at a vacation park in Wisemans Ferry.

Police have been told between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a vacation park allegedly sexually assaulted a selection of young boys.

Following intensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 60-year-old man in Wisemans Ferry, about 9am Thursday (20 July 2023).

He was charged with 22 child sexual assault offences and one rely of common assault.

He was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (21 July 2023), to reappear at the similar court docket on Friday 29 September 2023.

As inquiries proceed, police are interesting for anybody who could possibly assist detectives, including anybody who holidayed in the area at that time and witnessed suspicious behaviour.
