Man charged following investigation into historic sexual abuse offences

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged historical sexual abuse of kids within the state’s Hawkesbury area in the course of the Nineteen Eighties.

Detectives attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following a quantity of stories of alleged child sex abuse that occurred at a vacation park in Wisemans Ferry.

Police have been told between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a vacation park allegedly sexually assaulted a quantity of young boys.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 60-year-old man in Wisemans Ferry, about 9am Thursday (20 July 2023).

He was charged with 22 youngster sexual assault offences and one depend of frequent assault.

He was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (21 July 2023), to reappear on the similar courtroom on Friday 29 September 2023.

As inquiries continue, police are interesting for anybody who might be able to help detectives, together with anybody who holidayed in the space at that time and witnessed suspicious behaviour.
