Such a good choice to eat at. My family and I went out on a limb to try Polish food for the first time. Thankfully everything was great and the ambiance was cheery with overall great vibe. The service was good as well. No dish had disappointed me. The pierogis were S tier!
After a 10 mile day-on foot-exploring London, I had worked up quite the appetite. As per usual-I opened up Yelp and began scanning my choices in the direction I was traveling. Polish food? I've never had the opportunity...off I went. I noticed the outdoor seating which looked very nice but I decided to sit inside and see what it was like. The location was very dark and industrial-not complaining. I was seated quick. As I mulled over the menu-what do I order? I've never had the opportunity to dine in a Polish restaurant before...I noticed they offered beef cheeks. Now laugh if you will-I chuckled-I am a fan of the show Below Deck and one such chef always served beef cheeks...you guessed it..I ordered beef cheeks. I also asked the waitress-who I think had no clue-which wine would be best served with them. She mentioned a cabernet-I'll take it. Shortly after ordering, a DJ began playing some EDM upstairs-fun. It took a while to get my food and when the server brought it he asked, and I quote, "Would you like a fork and knife?" Wait-what?? Of course I would like utensils...what kind of savage am I?? And then he also brought an empty bowl...what was that for? The young lady who sat me finally brought me my red wine-chilled. Yea-no. The food was great though! I would come back-just a few things need to be adjusted here.
Ughh I really wanted to like this place. My gf is Polish and on my last night in London, I text her on what I should have for dinner. She's lived in London before and knows the Polish community is strong, so she suggested Polish food. After a search it was between this and Bar Polski (I later regretted not going). So I hopped on a lime bike and 25 mins later I was at this cool place by the Waterloo tube. Pierogi time, yes! The seating is cavernous with long picnic tables, think like a Hofbrau brewery hall. The 16 year old host sat me on a table far from everyone, and all by myself and away from the more lively crowd. It felt like I was being punished, but I was hungry and I rolled with it. But then I would try to make eye contact with multiple servers, raised my hand to the host who waved and blew me off, and then the rest of the staff just ignored me. Not even a drink order or offering me water. It was like 15-20 mins before someone (like the manager) came over but I was ready to leave. I was texting my gf about this and just bummed. It's not like they were slammed (I use to be a server) and they had food expediters. All taking orders and sending food to tables that arrived after me. So then I thought maybe this is some anti Asian racist act putting me so far from everyone and the staff treating me like a leper. Especially how this kid blew me off (pictured- you should fire this punk). I started looking at alternatives, but I was famished, they finally sent over a server, and so I decided to stay and ordered. The food was warm and adequate, but I've had better, and certainly the service could have been at least present. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Just a lame way to wrap my first trip to Europe in 2.5 years since the pandemic. But I had a great (sunny!) day afterward just before my flight...
We got their Schabowy Breaded Pork Loin with the cinderella mocktail. The drink was really good! Perfect level of sweetness and the different juices that went in it went really well together. The pork loin was also nicely done--the breading was super thin and crispy and well seasoned. The dish came with the unlimited salad bar which was just ok. The selection was extremely small (like maybe 3-4 things to choose from) and the flavors were mediocre.
The waitstaff here were very kind and we had excellent service. I had the sabowey which is basically like schnitzel and it was pretty good. My favorite thing about this place was their salad bar-they had sauerkraut, pickles, coleslaw and a carrot salad that was delicious!
Great Polish restaurant just a few steps away from Waterloo station. Great service and relaxed ambience inside. All the Polish staples from sausage to pierogies to gulash, all prepared "home style". The pierogies are an absolute must. I'm a big fan and these are among the best I have had. Great food, indoor and outdoor seating, and the go to spot when you want to have a proper meal (I've never left this place not being completely full).
Good Polish restaurant with a nice and simple ambient below the arches. Food is conveniently priced, tasty and comes in big portions. They also have a good selection of Polish beers. I had some Pierogi which were really good and as main I had Bigos which was also quite good. Service is friendly but the kitchen is not particularly quick.
Hoping that they are suffering from Covid disruption supply chain problems. They were out of 6 listed wines , beers and three main entrees. The food was canned tasting. Industrial tunnel decor meets disco with loud music , lighting. Very thin meat, thickly breaded. Overly whipped mashed potatoes. "Salad" was carrot shreds with maybe vinegar and ...garlic? My partner liked the pierogis.
Went out looking for food and ethanol after arriving from Seattle, and wandered across the street from our hotel into...Polish Heaven. The best pierogis I've had since I lived in Manhattan. The service was incredible in the face of a total computer meltdown. 10/10 would recommend, and look forward to coming again.
Such a great find by our hotel. They have only been open for a month but they have great things going for them.. Namely awesome Polish food, banging beers, and delicious Polish food. In an area with higher priced, mediocre food this restaurant is perfect for the area. Comforting polish food that is delicious and warms the soul. All the employees were super nice and answered all our questions before we ordered. They have an extensive polish beer list and vodkas in house. AND while waiting we were able to sample their salad bar with ALL THE PICKLES AND SAUERKRAUT. A wonderful appetizer while you wait for your meal (and even snag seconds after your meal is served) My friend and I split an order of 2 types of meat and vegetarian pierogis . Each was delicious in their own right. I especially loved my vegetarian ones with a hint of mint. You have the option to have them fried but just get them boiled, you won't be sorry I could not decide on a main meal (even after all those pickles I devoured) and was glad I went with the suggested beef cheeks dish. I was glad I did as they were slow braised and literally dissolved in my mouth. My friend ordered the chicken stuffed with cheese and it was so "horrible" she it all. Definitely recommend for someone who wants something off the beaten path
