We’ve been trying out various bottles to see what my little guy will take best. I breastfeed but do have to work so baby taking a bottle is important. MAM is the 3rd bottle we’ve tried, and little man does seem to like them. However the nipple flow is a little fast for a supposed size 1/newborn nipple. Especially when my son is hungry, he sucks faster on the nipple and ends up swallowing too fast either causing himself to get a giant gas bubble or cough. I compared the flow myself to a couple other stage 1 nipples we had, Dr. Browns, Avent and Evenflo and this MAM nipple flowed faster than all three of those other brands stage 1 nipples. I would bet to say a stage 1 MAM is equivalent to a stage 2 in another leading brand.
I have since tried to find the MAM extra slow level 0 nipples, which are not available on Amazon right now, but I was able to order them directly from MAM. I will update this once I have tried to say if those were any better with the flow. I am hoping they are because my son seems to really like the MAM bottles, and shape of the MAM nipples. He had a little bit of a tounge tie and these nipples he seems to do well with.

These nipples are WAY better than the Dr Brown nipples and they fit perfectly on the Dr Brown wideneck bottles! My son has a minor lip and tongue tie and he always struggled with the Dr Brown nipples. I read on a support group that these nipples fit the wide neck bottles and they really do! Perfect fit! I immediately noticed my 2 month old "latched" better with these nipples and has a lot less spitting out and playing with his tongue around the nipple. The flat shape is very similar to the shape of a real nipple inside the mouth, and I can tell he pulls more of this Mam nipple into his mouth than he ever could with the Dr Browns. These "slow flow" level 1 nipples are (in my opinion) equivalent to the Dr Brown level 2 nipple. Same flow.
Best purchase ever!!
Side note: the Mam starter gift pack comes with 4 nipples (AND bottles and pacifiers!) for only a few cents more per nipple. It's a better deal if you need more than 2 of these nipples.

We use avent glass bottles. After avent changed their nipple design, they started leaking like ceazy. You could only find the old design from scalpers expecting over $10 a nipple- no thank you! Some wonderful soul compiled a list of bottle/ nipple compatibility and posted it online. Based on this we tried these nipples. They dont “snap” into the white ring like the avent nipples do, but if you make sure the nipple is centered on the bottle and screw the ring down on top, THEY WORK! :) And without leaks! Once in a while our breastfed baby refuses these, but its usually before bed when he just wants his momma. He is 2 months old and we’re still on the smallest nipple size bc we dont want him to get lazy and frustrated with the boob. Bc of this we have to break his suction to allow air back into the bottle once in a while, but this works for us. This nipple was a lifesaver for us!

We headed out of town for Thanksgiving and immediately our baby who already struggles to eat was struggling even more! We were assuming sensory overload. This morning when we were trying to feed her twin brother, whom will eat whenever and whatever, was struggling. We assumed he was starting to show interest in helping or maybe he really wasn’t ready to eat. That would be unusual so I went ahead and pinched the nipple to see if it was even slower than I thought and nothing came out. So I then tried sucking it out myself and sure enough, nothing was coming out. Thank goodness I set aside the older nipples! So far half of the nipples we purchased are not working and I feel like we are having to start all over with my baby girl. She lost several ounces over the holiday weekend because of this.

Let me start by saying I've tried a number of wide neck nipples including Lansinoh, Evenflo Balance, Comotomo, Avent, NUK, and narrow neck nipples including Avima, Dr. Brown's, and Lifefactory. It has been a frustrating journey as I bought bottles and found the nipples they came with to be too fast flowing and had to buy nipples separately, only to find my baby still doesn't feed well on them. My son is nearly two months old and has been mostly bottle fed, with some time at breast.

I thought I settled on Evenflo Balance and Lansinoh slow flow but decided to give MAM a try, and I'm so glad I did. This nipple checks all of my boxes, including some the other two don't. I was looking for a wider neck, a soft nipple, a vented nipple, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, a feeding experience that doesn't leave my son gulping air and drowning. Evenflo Balance loses on nipple softness (quite rigid), flow rate (I find it a bit toooo slow where my son will fall asleep before finishing a bottle, and the next level up is too fast), and my son always seems to find latching on it very awkward. Lansinoh provides a very natural easy latch and softer nipple, but even the slow flow is too fast for my son. He needs to be burped frequently during feedings on the Lansinoh.

My son latches to MAM easily with NO ISSUES during feeding. He only needed to be burped at the end of feeding and fell asleep. The nipple is soft and fits the Lansinoh and Evenflo Balance wide neck bottles, so I don't have to buy any more bottles. This nipple doesn't leave me wanting for anything, so my search is over finally!!
