All 60 Malibu Coastal Surf Collective members surfed First Point simultaneously for the Walter Park centenary session. Daniel Park, grandson of Walter, surfed among them. "60 surfers and Walter Park's grandson," confirmed Pete Torres. "100 years after the first documented session." The session lasted 90 minutes. Everyone caught at least one wave. The Heritage Foundation documented it. Daniel Park caught three waves. "My grandfather's break," he confirmed. "I'm in it again."
"He's in it again," Torres confirmed. "The break is still there."
60 surfers. 90 minutes. The grandson who is in the break again. 100 years after Walter Park's first documented session, his grandson is catching waves at the same break. Both the centenary and Daniel Park's presence are real features of the same community honouring its history by surfing it. The ocean was there in 1925. It is here now. The break is the same break.
