Wrap the submissive in a warm blanket and give them water to drink. They may be slightly dehydrated following the mummification. Give them Lots of fruit and carbohydrate high foods to help bring their sugar levels back up. This will help to give them more energy after an emotionally exhausting experience.

If they need physical comfort, make sure you give them lots of time to be held within your embrace. If you can’t give your submissive the time to help calm down after an extreme experience you should never have put them in that extreme position in the first place.

If the submissive has long hair, then secure it out of the way. Wearing a spandex hood or cap with hair tucked inside can help to keep hair safely out of the way. After wrapping, the submissive will be laying flat so do not secure a ponytail on the back of the head.

It is a good idea to have the submissive use the bathroom before you start wrapping.

If you are wrapping the submissive in tape, wrap them with cling wrap first. Do not apply tape directly to the skin.

Never wrap someone while they are standing up unless you have someone who is helping. It is extremely easy for submissives to lose their balance and fall. With their arms wrapped up they will not be able to protect themselves if they do happen to fall.

It is not necessary to cover every inch of skin with cling wrap. Allowing some skin to show enables sexual play throughout the scene. Also allows you to monitor skin tone to see if there is any problems with circulation.

Check the wrapping material to ensure it does not contain toxic chemicals, and the submissive is not allergic to it. Always test all material first before doing a full mumification scene. Apply a small amount of material on the underside of the forearm for 1- 5 minutes. Remove the material and check for any skin changes. If you notice any skin changes or abnormailities do not use this material with the submissive.

If the submissive has a Latex allergy, do not use material that contains Latex.

Placing a cloth or cotton balls over eyes, nipples and other sensitive areas, can add extra protection if the wrap is cut off during the scene. With a small cut, less chance of hurting your partner and cloth/cottonball can be pulled out through hole, exposing the area of desire.

The submissive might be more comfortable with a sprinkling of powder before being wrapped. Be aware that some talc powders and cornstarch can be harmful if inhaled and while research is not conclusive could cause harm to the submissive's overall health. Cornstarch has been noted to dry out skin which can cause c rack ing making the submissive more suspetible to infection and harm from potential chemicals found in surrounding materials during mummification as well as out side of play. Remember your skin is your first line of defence against infectious diseases and chemicals, so treat it well. Try using a mixture of baking soda and arrowroot powder as an alternative. You will have to test to find a mixture that works best for you but an example could be a 4:1 ratio of arrowroot to baking soda. That is 2 cups of arrowroot to ½ a cup of baking soda.

It is helpful to use padding between the knees and ankles when wrapping the submissive. The tight binding can cause discomfort in those two areas.

When wrapped, submissives will sweat a lot, especially during longer scenes. Periodically offer the submissive water to prevent dehydration. Have some towels nearby when unwrapping the submissive.

If the submissive begins to panic, remove the head mask and reassure and comfort the person. Have the submissive slowly count backward from ten to one to calm the breathing. If the submissive uses the safe word, then quickly release the restraints.

Since mummification is an advanced form of bondage, there are safety issues to consider.

Never Leave The Submissive Unattended...EVER!

Once the mummification process begins, the dominant should NEVER leave the submissive until after the restraints have been removed. There are ways to evoke fear and the apprehension of being alone without actually leaving them. It only takes a split second for something to go wrong. The dominant partner should always keep an eye on the submissive partner.

When using restraints that do not allow for ventilation, make sure the submissive does not overheat. Cling wrap does not allow the body to release heat which may cause complications that can be life-threatening. Always keep water readily available and provide it regularly through your scene. If the submissive starts to overheat, remove the restraints and keep the submissive hydrated. Leaving open pockets in random areas can allow the skin to breath and give the Dominant skin to monitor for circulation issues.

Never participate in mummification while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Alcohol and drugs impair cognitive function which can cause people to agree to things they normally would never agree too. In BDSM that is not acceptable on the Dominant and the submissive’s part.

It also dulls senses and when you need your senses to fully understand what is happening and to determine if you are in danger or not. It should be obvious being under the influence while playing is a risk that can easily be avoided.

Lastly, You and your submissive will need to communicate throughout the scene therefore an altered state may hinder proper communication. When communication is of the utmost of importance anything that would hinder it should be removed.

If you would not drive under the influence, then it should be safe to say you should not take part in BDSM play while under the influence.
With each step deeper into your desires, new experiences can be found that will heighten the senses, ignite the body and electrify the mind. While bondage is a common practice for many in the lifestyle, it is a truly diverse fetish and contains many different niches within it. One intensely consuming area of bondage that has left many people begging for more is mummification .
However, Mummification is not for the faint of heart and is not without its own risks. There have been deaths due to mummification and so a great deal of respect, caution and care must be taken at all times. This is not meant as a scare tactic but to make you aware that there are risks involved. By knowing and understanding the risks involved as you begin to explore more extreme play can you better decide if this is a step that you truly want to take.
Now that is not to say you can’t have fun and by all means that is the point of getting involved in the BDSM lifestyle, but before you jump head first into the cling wrap and find yourself in a dangerous predicament that you can’t get yourself out of, lets first discover more about this extreme form of bondage called mummification.
There are many people within the BDSM lifestyle who enjoy the art of bondage. Bondage is the act of restraining someone to limit their movements. The submissive partner is generally the one who is wrapped by the dominant partner.
Mummification, or total enclosure, is a type of bondage in which the submissive person is completely or partially wrapped in some type of material. While completely encased (cocooned) the individual will become completely immobilized and totally vulnerable to the Dominant.
While Bondage restraints can be anything from rope, tape, cuffs, scarves, chain, – basically, anything you can use to secure a portion of the body. In mummification, the submissive is typically cocooned causing complete immobilization rather than only restraining a section of the submissive’s limbs thereby allowing some limited movement for struggle.
Not being able to move at ALL is a huge turn on for many people but mummification is not just about restricting the submissive. It can also be used to create mild to complete sensory deprivation for the submissive thus forcing the submissive to focus only on the few sensations the Dominant chooses to provide. This can lead to a truly heightened sense of arousal as the submissive’s mind quiets, any form of stimulation becomes amplified as the submissive has nothing else to focus on or distract them from what their Dominant is doing.
There are many different types of materials that can be used for mummification. Some are found in your home while others are sold specifically for this activity. Some favorite materials including plastic wrap, duct tape, medical bandages, bondage tape, blankets, leather and/or straitjackets.
Before we get into the How To portion, we encourage everyone to sit down with their partner and spend some time talking about what they expect from their BDSM scene and mummification, what materials will be used, and establish a safe word. If one can not speak then a safety signal, just incase anything goes wrong the submissive can signal the Dominant to let them know they need the scene to stop immediately for whatever reason. Making those decisions is important to the health and safety of the participants. What is really important is to have an open and honest dialog with your partner about your expectations before the scene ever starts.
This shiny PVC Bondage tape is commonly used for mummification in BDSM. It only sticks to itself, so it does not pull hair or leave any sticky residue. It’s perfect for the novice and the fetish aficionado alike. Bondage Tape can be used to bind, blindfold, mummify or create outfits for the object of your affection. It’s easy to use and visually stunning.
Measurements: 65 feet in length, 2 inches in width
There are three basic types of mummification, Zone, Limited, and Full Body.
Zone Mummification is where specific areas of the body are wrapped. The experience is not as intense as the Limited or Full Body mummification, but the submissive does get the feeling of being constricted. This technique is a good start for beginners to get the sensation of being constricted. For example binding a single arm thus limiting the mobility of that limb.
Limited Mummification is where the body is wrapped only from the neck to the feet. The head is not wrapped or covered. A blindfold can be used but the head is not covered, and the nose and mouth are not restricted in any way. This type of mummification can be dramatic and a feeling of helplessness if present. This is a good step after Zone mummification.
Full Body Mummification is an extreme form of bondage, and it is the most dangerous, so extra precautions should be taken by the dominant to ensure the safety of the submissive. With full body mummification, the submissive is wrapped from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet. Some type of breathing device must be used for the safety of the submissive.
This form of mummification can be disorientating and thereby mess with the submissive psychologically during and after and can cause long-term emotional trauma if not properly understood and discussed between each participant.
Try to imagine the psychological impact that being trapped within a tightly wrapped container with no way to escape as an individual with no knowledge of what they are doing stands above you and does nothing to help. This horrific experience can lead to longer term forms of anxiety, mistrust, and depression to only name a few.
Full body mummification should not be tried by beginners or anyone who has not put a lot of thought into it.
It is essential that both participants consent to the activity and play within their agreed upon limits. If either person uses their safeword or safetycall in a scene, then the activity must stop immediately.
If someone (Dominant or submissive) does not want to have an open and honest dialog about the mummification scene, before you play that should be a serious sign that this is not someone to play with.
Always trust your instincts, if you don’t feel comfortable or feel uneasy you can say “stop”, “no thank you” or “I am done playing” at any time. Don’t ever let anybody tell you, you can’t stop a scene at any time or you have to participate in activity you are not comfortable with.
Trust is essential to mummification, one person is going to be completely immobilized and helpless for who knows how long. If you wouldn’t leave your wallet or purse unattended with a person you do not know, chances are pretty good you shouldn’t trust your life with them. Therefore it is crucial you know the person you are playing with and develop trust with them and that takes time. Please know leaving your purse or wallet unattended is not a test to determine if someone is trust worthy for mummification. It is just pointing out that your safety should be your most important criteria for mummification play and that takes time to develop. Mummification with someone you don’t know or trust is extremely risky.
Mummification is not a quick process. Plan at least thirty minutes to wrap the submissive, at least 10 minutes to an hour to leave them wrapped, and 15 to 20 minutes to free them.
The dominant will need approximately 100 yards of cling wrap, a few yards of duct tape, a head mask, cotton balls, Ace bandages, and a pair of EMT scissors. Have these on-hand before you start wrapping, nothing destroys the mood of a scene like laying around as your partner tries to find all their supplies.
Find a comfortable place where your partner can lie down. This can be a bed, couch, or other flat surfaces.
Find out if your partner has any form of clastrophobia. If so this is not the kind of play for them.
For Zone Mummification , wrap each limb separately with cling wrap If the submissive wants a firmer feel to their mummification wrap over the plasitic wrap with bondage, duct or electrical tape to secure the wrap.
Fast, easy and completely immobilized!
These leather binds will speed up your zone mummification while producing a truly empowering experience. Now you can spend more time on your play and less time on the setup. And you don’t have to worry about any circulation issues.
For Limited Mummification the head is not wrapped, but the submissive can wear a mask, hood, or blindfold. Having the submissive naked while wrapping so they can feel the wrap applied to their body can help to create a more submissive head space.
Wrap the torso a couple of times pulling the wrap tight. Take it slow and always keep an eye on your submissive watching for signs of panic in the submissive.
While you can wrap across the chest, you might find it can become extremely easy to make the wrap too tight as you pull along the torso. Try not to just wrap the chest itself but cri ssc ross the shoulders and chest. This allows for a little more breathing room in the wrap.
Have the submissive put their arms down and wrap again. Make sure it is nice and tight, but not so tight that it obstructs the ability of the submissive to breathe. Every time the wrap is crossed over the chest and back, having the submissive take in a big breathe and holding it as the wrap is pulled over will help to ensure the wrap is never so tight to restrict their ability to breathe.
It is easier to apply the wrap while the submissive stands, but falling over can be a hazard. Make sure the submissive doesn’t suffer from any balance issues, if they do or to ensure their safety
1) Wrap their upper body as they sit on a chair, then have them lay down on the floor and complete their lower body wrap
2) Wrap them to a stable chair while sitting in it can prevent any falling issues.
3) Another option is to wrap them onto a table as they lay on it.
4) Have third person assist you and support the submissive in case of an emergency.
Start wrapping at the top and work your way downwards and smooth the plastic as you wrap. Once you get to the hips, the submissive should lay down. You will need to assist them because they will not be able to help you. Have the submissive cross their ankles and continue to wrap all the way down.
Remember if you choose, you can always leave several strategically placed unwrapped areas for play! This could include the breasts or just the nipples and/or the ass and genital areas. Again, this kind of play should have been agreed upon before the scene started as some submissives don’t want to be touched while in mummification. They want to be bound and left confined. What type of play does your submissive enjoy can only be learned by talking with them. So make sure you discuss and receive consent for all forms of play before you add anything.
Make sure you leave the nasal and mouth areas open and free of any obstructions to ensure there are no breathing problems. Since the submissive cannot move, check these areas often, always monitor their breathing and their face for signs of stress and panic.
If both partners enjoy the sensation of having the wrap, or tape cut off key areas of interest after being wrapped having a protective barrier to help to make sure the submissive is not hurt while exposing these areas is always a good idea. Having a small towel or cotton balls covering the area of interest underneath the wrappings, such as over the nipples, genitals or other areas will protect that area in case the Dominant accidentally cuts too deep. Giving you both more room for safety.
Let the beautiful smell of leather seep into their nose, the soft leather to hug their body as it is tightened around them as it enforces your Dominance.  Allowing your submissive to drift off to SubSpace in this totally encompassing, comfy and snug leather sleep sack.
Once inside, you can close the sleep sack using the dual zippers located in the front. You can also loop the string through the buckles for a more snug fit. The sleep sack will cover your sub from the neck down. On top of having dual zippers in the front, which will allow you to expose them if needed, there is also a zipper in the back which runs from about the middle of the back to the bottom of the butt. Allowing you access to what you desire.
The Full Body Mummification is similar to the limited style, but the head is also wrapped. This type of mummification requires some type of assisted breathing device because the nose and mouth are restricted. Large holes for breathing are recommended for safety concerns.
Cotton balls, cloth, blindfold, headphones, ear plugs, ear muffs or ear protectors can be placed over the eyes and ears to not only protect them, but to increase the sensory deprivation experience. With no light or sound and a complete lack
