Maisie Williams has opened up about filming her first ever sex scene, admitting it was 'extremely awkward'.
The Game of Thrones star, who turned 18 in April, spoke to Vulture about losing her onscreen virginity in The Falling.

'It was extremely awkward!' she said. 'But [co-star] Joe [Cole] was very sensitive to the fact that I had never done a scene like this before, and it was great to work with someone who was so considerate of that.
'We went out for a couple of lunches and stuff just to get to know each other, and we had days of rehearsal where we'd get to know our characters and spend a couple of hours with each other,' she added.
'So I knew him quite well, and we got along quite well. It all paid off in the end.'
The British mystery drama is set in an all-girls school, where Maisie's character Lydia - and soon the rest of the girls - begin suffering from mysterious fainting spells.

'During shooting, we all lived in a house together. We were sharing rooms and sharing beds, and we'd have heart-to-heart talks all the time,' she said.
'We'd also have evenings where we'd practice our fainting, which was pretty mental. Just falling on the floor, learning how to fall without injuring yourself.
'It's a great thing to take with me to use in other projects, in my stunt training. It's like stop, drop, and roll,' she added, joking that she could pull the maneuver if anyone recognises her on the street.
Despite her tender age, Williams is of course now considered a veteran, having played Arya Stark on the HBO epic series for five seasons, and was looked to on set to guide the newbies.

'For most of the girls, this was their first film — so before we started shooting, I had this big conversation with a lot of them about what it was going to be like on set,' she revealed.
'I didn't want to boast or anything, but it can be scary if you're not exposed to that. People are talking to you and you have no idea what they're speaking about or what they mean. It was important to make sure they all felt comfortable, so I answered their questions as much as I could.'
She also revealed that she thought Maxine Peake - who plays her estranged mother in the film - hated her because of the cold reception she gave whenever they met on set.

Only after the film wrapped did she discover director Carol Morley had specifically requested Peake keep her distance from the young star as a method of keeping their on-screen relationship strained.
'Throughout the shoot I was so miserable because I thought she hated me,' she conceded. 'I thought all the adults hated me.'

She claimed that instead of being pestered for series spoilers, she actually used the same to threaten people who wound her up.
'I would threaten to spoil the next episode. Or I'd go, "I'll spoil the next season!" And everyone would be like, "No! No! No! Don't! You can't give any spoilers!",' she revealed.
'So that was really, really good. It was a power I had over the whole cast and crew.'

Actress Maisie Williams talked about her sex scene in The Falling , and just how awkward it was!
According to Daily Mail , 18-year-old Maisie Williams had her very first on-screen sex scene in the film with actor Joe Cole. In a recent interview, Williams talked about the experience, and how she got to know Cole before the two were forced to have romantic chemistry with cameras nearby.
"Williams may be a major player on 'Game of Thrones,' a show up to its bosom in gratuitous sex scenes , but Arya's storyline is more about stabbing as many of her enemies as possible. So even though the Bristol-born actress was more experienced than most of her on-screen classmates, she still needed a crash course in fake sex ed," reports the New York Daily News .
Believe it or not, Maisie Williams' sex scene in The Falling isn't what has most people talking. The Falling – an indie film set in the 1960s - is Maisie’s first big foray into the movie world.
In our day-to-day working lives about the most awkward thing that might happen to us is that we run into the boss who doesn’t like us that much in the lift. But just imagine if the most awkward thing that you had to do in your job was pretend to have sex with someone, but not just anyone, someone you know even know all that well.
Well this is exactly the dilemma that faced actress Maisie Williams when she had to film her first ever sex scene for her new film, The Falling . So how did it turn out? “It was extremely awkward!,” she told Vulture in a new interview, “But [co-star] Joe Cole was very sensitive to the fact that I had never done a scene like this before, and it was great to work with someone who was so considerate of that.”
18-year-old Maisie went on to reveal that the pair made sure they got to know each other before they had to pretend to get intimate on camera. She said: “We went out for a couple of lunches and stuff just to get to know each other, and we had days of rehearsal where we’d get to know our characters and spend a couple of hours with each other. So I knew him quite well, and we got along quite well. It all paid off in the end.”
