The Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie has revealed she was happy to do her full frontal scene in the film because she thought it was ‘warranted’.
The actress, 23, admitted she was nervous about stripping off in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated film but thought it was worth the risk.
She told Look magazine: ‘[Nudity is] different in this day and age, because of the internet. It was like, if I do this there will forever be YouTube clips of this, there will be slow-motion versions.
‘It’s not just the repercussions for myself – my brothers and my grandparents have to deal with that. So it’s not something to be taken lightly.’
Robbie added: ‘There are scripts I pick up and say, “There’s no reason why she’s taking her clothes off, that’s just stupid, it’s just nudity for the sake of nudity.”That I do not agree with, ever.
‘But when the nudity is warranted, I don’t think there’s anything shameful in that. If it’s justified and the character would do it, then it should be there.’
In The Wolf of Wall Street Leonardo DiCaprio plays stockbroker Jordan Belfort while Margot plays his wife Naomi.
The Wolf of Wall Street is currently top of the UK box office.

"Every time I go to my favorite bar, I end up standing on the table and singing 'Come On Eileen,'" she says. "Then a security guard comes and pulls me down. It's a ritual now." Also something of a ritual these days: female friends of Esquire (she was nice enough to give a tour of our place last year) inviting our photographer friend, Michael Edwards from Me in My Place , over to their places. Twenty-one years ago, I was born to a pretty crazy family — two brothers and a sister — and everyone's pretty nuts. I got the best of both worlds — I lived in a beachy town along the coastline in Australia.
I was always very dramatic — my family would probably use the word dramatic — as a child; always putting on performances, making everyone come watch, and pay to watch. I was very business-savvy as a child.
My first role was a low-budget feature film, filmed on the Gold Coast where I grew up, called I.C.U. It was a thriller. About spoiled teenagers who occasionally get in bikinis and swear. That sort of thing.
...so much teen angst. I must take some clothes off and go for a swim.
I miss how outdoorsy everything is in Australia. I love living in New York — it's so fun, and we don't have anything as exciting as New York has back home. We just play, you know, beach cricket.
Wickets. So, it's like, three sticks, a little stick balancing on top of those sticks, and you throw a ball at it, and try to knock it down. But there's a batsman in front of it trying to hit the ball. If they do, they just run back and forth between wickets, and count how many runs they can get.
We Australians are incredibly laid-back until it comes to drinking or playing sports.
Then everyone gets very, very serious about it.
Another thing about Australia: You can't go out and not be drinking. You'll get yelled at.
It's very unjust to refuse a drink.
A woman rushes into her house one morning and says to her husband, "Sam, pack up your stuff. I just won the lottery."

"Shall I pack for warm weather or cold?" he asks.

"Whatever," she replies. "So long as you're out of the house by noon."

“We just set out to do something weird and different.
"And we picked all the things that make a film not commercially-viable—like having it be very dialogue heavy with neo-noir themes, a very British sense of humour—when all people want is like big action.”
