Mafuena
https://t.me/yachka_proseThe conversation from behind the door was difficult for the girls.
"I'm sure Mizuki knows that we would never change our attitude position towards them. Even if the secret turns out to be terrible. You just need to convey it somehow, convince them."
A pause. It lasted only half a minute, but the silence in the room was deafening...
"It's okay that you're upset, it's fine. By the way, I logged on to send a new demo. Do you wanna hear it?"
Mafuyu knew that eavesdropping was wrong. She was just passing by Kanade's room, heard her voice and wanted to come in, but then realized that the girl was with someone on the call. 'Probably Ena.' And just like that she heard K reassuring her friend in the nightcord call long before the set meeting time.
For the first time in a long time, Mafuyu felt at ease. She wasn't afraid to be late home, breaking curfew; didn't get nervous at the slightest rustle in the hallway; wrote music again; spent time with friends at the school festival. She lived a life of a real mentally stable teenager. But it turned out that the good times come to an end too quickly.
Mizuki's profile picture no longer turned green, the girls didn't hear a familiar voice and didn't see a familiar face in calls. Of course, there were not many of those meetings, however, the absence of the fourth member was painfully apparent to the girls.
Mafuyu couldn't figure out what was wrong. She noticed Amia's excitement at the festival, and was intrigued by the offer to talk later. But suddenly everything collapsed before it was completed. For more than two weeks she haven’t heard Mizuki's voice, which was so familiar before, and Ena's inner fire, inspiring Mafuyu to explore new aspects of herself, almost completely died out. She sighed not out of anger, but out of despair. She didn't argue, she didn't defend her opinion. She was silent, turning into a shrunken shell of herself.
And Mafuyu did not like that.
The girl returned to her room (which Kanade lent her for the time of living together), opened the nightcord and went into private messages.
— Enanan, I want to talk. — 11:09 pm
Silence. 'Busy?'
— Right now? I'd say I'm busy drawing for the next song, but you intrigued me. What is it? — 11:16 pm
Mafuyu immediately began typing a reply before Ena changed her mind and left the chat.
— Why have you changed? — 11:16 pm
— What do you mean, changed? What are you talking about? — 11:17 pm
— After the Kamiyama festival you act different. I don't recognize you. — 11:17 pm
And the silence again. 'She doesn't want to talk about this topic?'
— And what do you think is the reason for this? An observant one. — 11:19 pm
— It's related to Amia. — 11:19 pm
— You… It was a rhetorical question. Okay. Well, I've changed, yes, I've lost contact with a good friend. How do you like that? — 11:23 pm
Mafuyu sighed. Well, at least Ena looks like her usual self again.
— I don't like it. Our group became separated. And it's like you've gone back a year. You behave more like me than yourself again. — 11:25 pm
Asahina frowned without taking her eyes off the phone. She didn't understand what kind of emotion was bubbling inside her, which did not allow her to put down the gadget, focus on work, take a deep breath. There was a feeling that the group had to be protected. But from what? Why did Mafuyu feel this way? She didn't have an answer to that.
— I'm worried about Amia! Are you happy? I'm worried about our friendship, work, and communication. Without Amia, our calls look like we've all turned off the microphones. I want our friendship back. But you probably won’t understand, you're always silent anyway. — 11:30 pm
— Maybe I'm telling you to stop arguing while we're working, but you're not like you without them. It's like you lost the will to live when Amia left. And I want you to bring it back, you're not the Enanan I know. — 11:32 pm
‘The will to live? Return it? I don't know where these words come from. It's like someone is speaking for me...’
— Wait, are you worried about me? — 11:32 pm
Worried? Mafuyu is not worried. She just wants to get things back to normal. She doesn't like the oppressive feelings in her head, twisting in her stomach and aching in her heart, and she wants to get rid of them.
— Hey, don't ignore me, Amia 2.0! — 11:41 pm
— I was thinking. — 11:41 pm
— About what? — 11:42 pm
— What are worries, and do I experience them. — 11:42 pm
— And your answer is?.. — 11:42 pm
— I don't know. — 11:42 pm
— That's what I thought. Silly. — 11:43 pm
Mafuyu could literally imagine Ena's lips turning into a smile on the other side of the screen as she sits at the table, clutching the phone to her. After all, the four of them knew each other so well... if only they could convince Mizuki of that.
Ena probably won't be able to get Amia back. At least by herself. She is a good friend, but she can be short-tempered, and this may not turn out for the better. Especially considering Mizuki's tendency to avoid conflict.
Mafuyu still needs to think about this.
