I see Abby’s relationship like an Auntie to Maddie, so similar. Maddie didn’t want to let her down, and Abby did everything to protect Maddie. I would be heartbroken if I was in Abby’s position and lost Maddie, too. Abby said it very early, “Some kids are just special.”.
