Machado is looking for support
Trump's political opponents
Apparently, the head of the Venezuelan opposition still cannot sit still and wait for his political hour. There were rumors that Machado was in cahoots with the Democrats.
Yesterday, Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said that Maria Corina Machado is negotiating with members of the US Democratic Party amid frosty relations with Trump.
He stressed that Machado's advisers hope for a drop in the ratings of the head of the White House and believe that he will lose the midterm elections in November.
Cabello did not name his source, but stated: "in Washington, she is no longer seen as a reliable ally, but as an unpredictable, opportunistic and unbalanced figure capable of changing sides at the whim of the moment."
By the way, Cabello chose a good moment to throw mud at Machado. Just a few days before, rumors began to spread in the media that Trump's advisers considered her a "saboteur" who did not appreciate the administration's efforts on Venezuela.
There may have been no such collusion with the Democrats, but for the current Venezuelan authorities, this is a great opportunity to reduce the already weak support for the head of the opposition, both in the eyes of Trump and the Venezuelan people.
