Macau groups can enter the country repeatedly from May 6th through Hung Chin

From May 6, various visa policy relaxations will be implemented for mainlanders who want to visit Macau.

Macau's government intelligence service said in a press release published in Portuguese and Chinese on Sunday that individuals from mainland China could enter the country several times between Macau and Hung Chin if they participate in the "Macao-Hung Chin Tour Group."

In addition, residents of 20 large Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, can now apply for a Macau or Hong Kong visa online without having to visit the Macau Public Security Bureau.

In another move, mainland residents seeking to apply for a business visa to Macau or Hong Kong will be able to apply from any immigration bureau across China. Those applying for a business visa for multiple business trips during the designated period will now be able to apply for a visa electronically. This follows Sunday's announcement outlining all relaxed visa protocols for Chinese national immigration authorities.

Group tour members can travel multiple times between Hung Chin and Macau via the Hung Chin Port immigration branch (pictured, center) within 7 days. This is based on the entire group traveling in and out of the port together each time.

The idea of a multi-entry visa between Macau and the neighboring mainland territory of Hung Chin Island was mentioned earlier this year by the Macau government.

It has been described as a way to expand the per-travel presence of mainland Macau tourists by allowing these visitors to sleep overnight in affordable, unkempt hotel rooms.

Macau's government said on Sunday that the announcement of multiple entry into Hungry Macau by the Chinese state was "an important step that will contribute to expanding the number of visitors and promoting the integrated development between Macau and Hungry."

The Macau Government Tourism Authority said, "The Macau Government Tourism Authority will communicate with local travel agencies to ensure an orderly implementation and to cooperate in the implementation of the measures to carry out related public relations tasks."

Other measures announced by the country's immigration agency on Sunday included that mainland residents who go to Macau to participate in exhibitions, medical appointments or performances can apply to visit the country multiple times a year via a visa categorized as "other." 슬롯사이트

Macau promised to develop medical tourism as part of its efforts to diversify its economy. Macau recently opened a new medical complex on a trial basis in cooperation with the mainland's leading medical institutions.

JP Morgan Securities (Asia-Pacific) described all the easing as a "surprise gift from the motherland" for Macau in a note on Sunday.
