Think about the phrase “bee-stung lips” for a second. LIKE, REALLY THINK ABOUT IT. Literally sounds like the worst thing to ever happen to anyone. I was stung by a bee on my bicep when I was eight, and I still remember, with much clarity, the feeling of a million hot needles pinching my skin. To this day whenever a bee enters my peripheral vision I walk a little faster and mutter under my breath, “Bees can smell fear. No fear. No Fear. NO FEAR!”
Well. MAC’s new line of plumping lipsticks (and a plumping gloss) will not inflict any deep mental scars. At least I hope that’s the case?! I’m sitting here wearing the shade Smooth Going and my mouth is pretty tingly. Not a four-alarm status sting but I definitely feel like I’m alive.

I like Smooth Going and So Swell. These have the same container as those MAC huggable lipsticks that came out a while ago. I might make a trip to Sephora tomorrow because some of the Too Faced peach line is half off!
Yes they do! They feel kinda like the Huggables, but with a tingly sensation.
Have fun at Sephora tomorrow, and grab a Peach Tinted Moisturizer if you can!
I will see what’s on sale! I know the lipsticks are, and the eyeshadow palette.
I remember trying a lip plumping product when I was first exploring makeup (my early teens, and I think it was DuWop’s Lip Venom?), and had no idea of how the “plumping” happened. To say I was surprised would be an understatement.
These colors are pretty (especially the first two swatches), and I really like the sheer finish. The description of the tingling sounds like how my lips feel after I eat spicy food, actually.
You just know I’m going to say So Swell.
I hear you on the bee sting. I’m sure I complained about the yellow jacket a couple of years ago (it was tucked under the edge of the laundry sorter and I grabbed in just the right/wrong spot to lean over and get clothes – I literally thought it was a sharp piece of metal). Unpleasant! But, for the rest of the day, thanks to you and Jerry McGuire, I’ll be thinking “d’you know that beeths and dogs can thmell fear?”.
Colors are pretty. Call me clueless, but I don’t understand the whole lip plumping thing. There are some celebrities that go so overboard with it, I think they just look fake and weird.
I feel like So Swell would be my new go-to shade!
But does it really tingle that much then? Or is it bearable?
I love the idea though, haven’t seen them around here in the UK yet!
