NOTE: MA PETITE CHERIE can be found on Saturdays at the Brentwood Farmer's Market in downtown Brentwood (Oak Street Area) I ran into a couple of their fans, so I videotaped them talking about how much they like the Ma Petite Cherie bakeshop. (copy and paste the link) youtube.com/watch?v=YC2l… European pastry is known for its' decidedly low-key approach to sweeteners. In other words, they don't obscure the delicate flavors and flaky textures with the kind of heavy-handed use of sweeteners found in their American counterparts. Ma Petite Cherie produces exceptional baked goods in the French tradition, not too sugary and not too heavy. Their baked goods look exactly like the ones I enjoyed every day when I lived in Europe. More importantly, they TASTE exactly the same, fluffy, buttery layers with just a hint of sweetness. If your taste runs to Krispy Kremes, sticky buns, and Twinkies, you may not appreciate Ma Petite Cherie's restraint when it comes to the use of sugar. However, if you enjoy quality baked goods that DO justice to the fine art of French cuisine, then you definitely should stop by MPC's cute little booth at the the Brentwood Farmer's Market.
I tried a chocolate croissant about a year ago from farmers market and wasn't overly impressed. It was just too dense and not light and flaky like a true croissant should be. (With that said, I haven't found any bakery in East County that can make a great croissant.) Today I bought a flourless chocolate cake (like the cute one with berries in the Yelp pictures) and was very impressed!!! It was delicious. Rich, decadent but not too sugary. I will definitely buy it again next week at market! Overall, the flourless chocolate cake won me over. Give them a try. It's sure better than the overrated Dore bakery (see my other review for that bakery).

I am so glad I ordered this single pink peony. It reminds me of my dad’s peonies he grew when I was a kid. I also ordered one for my granddaughter. We are happy every time we look at it. Thank you for great quality & wonderful memories.

Ordered two of these to put near picture frames on a shelf, and love what they did for the space. The flowers are so vivid and tasteful - happy to finally be able to enjoy peonies year-round!

I purchased two single pink peonies to go alongside a bigger Diane James arrangement on my dining room table and they look great! I consistently get compliments on how real and luxurious these flowers look. I would highly recommend the single peony as a standalone piece (e.g. Coffee or end table, desk) or to add more depth to another arrangement.

Perfect petite peony in magenta is lovely on my Ethan Allen Emily desk. I also purchased one in pink for an accent table in my bedroom. So beautiful ... people think that they are real!
