Since holding 25% of Man United's shares and managing the team's sports department, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have made the first move to appoint Omar Berrarda as the club's CEO. Omar Berrarda originally played the role of COO (chief operating officer) of City Football Group (behind Man City Club).
Rio Ferdinand, MU legend shared: "I talked to a few people at Man City and they couldn't believe that MU recruited him."

Writer Pol Ballus of The Athletic expressed: “This is a strong blow to Man City. Omar Berrarda is a leading and highly trusted figure at City, a member of the family. Therefore, bringing him to Man United is an extremely top deal."
Meanwhile, former Man City star Joleon Lescott also evaluated this deal: "Man United appointed Omar Berrada from Man City like an explosion. He is a great person to work with and we have shared many insightful conversations at Etihad. His role will be more business-oriented and focus on club structure. He plays an important role in the development of City Football Group and this is a reasonable deal for MU."
According to The Athletic, Berrada was considered a bright candidate to replace Begiristain for the position of Football Director of Manchester City, before being convinced by Man United.
