Bankroll – The available funds you have to bet with.
Futures: A long-term wager that typically relates to a team's season-long success. Common futures bets include betting a team to win a championship at the outset of a season, or betting whether the team will win or lose more games than a set line at the start of the season.
Hedging: Betting the opposing side of your original bet, to either ensure some profit or minimize potential loss. This is typically done with futures bets, but can also be done on individual games with halftime bets or in-game wagering.
Moneyline/ML: A bet in which your team only needs to win. The point spread is replaced by odds.
Parlay: When a bettor makes multiple bets (at least two) and ties them together, you need multiple events to all win for higher payouts.
ex. PSG ML + Morant O27.5 PTS
O/U: Over/Under
SOT: Shot(s) on target
SOG: Shot(s) on goal
Spread: The number of points by which the supposed better team is favoured over the underdog.
ex. Lakers -4.5 means they MUST WIN the match by 5 OR MORE
Raptors +4.5 means they CAN LOSE by up to 4 (or win)
Think of a -4.5 spread as 4.5 points being subtracted from the team total. A +4.5 spread is equivalent to 4.5 points being added to the team total
CASE 1
FINAL: Lakers 122 - Raptors 116
In this case, Lakers -4.5 would be the ing bet because they won by MORE than 5
CASE 2
FINAL: Lakers 122 - Raptors 119
In this case, Raptors +4.5 would be the winning bet because lost by LESS than 4
CASE 3
FINAL: Raptors 122 - Lakers 116
In this case, Raptors +4.5 would be the winning bet because WON outright
Push: When a result lands on the betting number and all wagers are refunded.
Ex. Lakers -3
FINAL: Lakers 122 - Raptors 119
