Who is the MMA fighter of the year?

New champions emerged and old champions re-emerged as title contenders again in 2013. It was a monumental year for some mixed martial artists, and Newsday has selected five candidates for you to choose as fighter of the year.
The nominees are listed below, in alphabetical order. Read the case for each fighter below, then vote in the poll on the right rail.

Who is the busiest UFC fighter? Who fights the most often, win or lose. Looking at some fighters, either due to injury or whatever, it seems like they fight once a year at best. Others seem like they fight all the time. I hate research and am lazy about compiling data, so I assumed a Junkie might actually have the answer at their fingertips.
Josh Koshceck , Jon Fitch, Matt brown has been pretty active and chris lytle are some that i can think of.

Koscheck is the guy that first comes to mind.
After doing a quick search, most fighters seem to be equally active...
travis fulton is probably the busiest in mma.
253 mma fights and 38 boxing fights.
his last 2 fights were separated by only 8 days!

Nate Diaz. Kenny Florian come to mind.
Once a year isnt the average for UFC fighters. If that were the case there would not be so many cards.
Koscheck hasnt fought since UFC 104, so this hiatus is longer than normal for him, but he is definately a busy fighter.
Jacob Volkmann has fought 3 times in the UFC, his debut being at UFC 106.
Randy fought from 3 times, starting at UFC 102, going to UFC 109
The trend i have noticed is that a lot fighters are busy for a brief period of time, then kinda settle down after.
The word "busy" and "UFC" don't belong in the same sentence. Fighters really don't fight very often. Average is probably just over 2 fights a year. Maybe 2.5.

Mike Swick is pretty busy, he's taken a lot of last minute fights which imo have hurt his career
Kos... dude fights A LOT. and against quality opponents.
Krzysztof Soszynski comes to mind. He fought 4 times in less than a year ranging from UFC 97 to UFC 110.
EDIT: Kongo also fought 4 times in less than a year (10 months) ranging from 87-99.

Anderson Silva.He has to fight plus keep his Dancing Skills tight.
Matt Serra by far. Tito Ortiz fights alot too.

1 Kos he fights quality,and is someone Zuffa can count on if someone is injured to step in.
2 nate Diaz everytime theres a fight night live.
3 Forrest was fighting alot not so much anymore.

I think people are stating opinion on a lot of these fighters without actually looking at there fighting timelines.
When Rumble isn't nursing an injury, he's pretty active.
os Santos is very active for a HW. I think 5 fights since Nov.(?) '08.
jim miller has 7 fights since ufc 89
