MLB Tampa Bay extends contract with head coach Cathy
The Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB) signed an extension contract with manager Kevin Cash, who led the team to the postseason (PS) for five consecutive years.
Tampa Bay announced on the 9th that it has extended its contract with manager Cash and president of baseball operations Eric Nieder.
The terms of the contract between manager Cash and president Nieder were not disclosed, but MLB homepage MLB.COM expected the two to accompany Tampa Bay until 2028 when the new stadium was completed.
Cash, who took the helm of Tampa Bay in 2015, has led the team for 10 years. During the nine seasons, Cash had a total of 739 wins and 617 losses.
Tampa Bay, a small market under Cathy, transformed itself into a strong team. The American League East, which includes the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays, has advanced to the fall baseball league for five consecutive years since 2019.
Tampa Bay was runner-up in the 2020 World Series, and in 2021, it won 100 games (62) in a season for the first time in the club's history, topping the AL East.
Cash, who was recognized for his leadership, won the 2020 and 2021 American League Coach of the Year awards. 메이저 토토사이트
