melomel07 (github)HOW TO SETUP A MINECRAFT SERVER USING PLAYIT AND MCRUNIT ON WINDOWS
Requirements:
- Download Your Preferred Server Software
- Download MCrunit
- You might also need to install java if you don't have it already
- Download Playit (optional)
Procedure:
- Create a folder for your server and drag & drop the server software(.jar file) into the folder.
- Drag and drop mcrunit.bat into there.
- Open the mcrunit.bat program.
- Write "run" to run the server. Some files will start to show up, wait for that to finish. Then close the server.
- Now, In most cases, you'll need to edit the "eula.txt" file and change the "false" to "true" after "eula=". Not always the case as some software do it automatically, so make sure to check.
- If you want to use an already existing world in your server, simply delete all the contents inside the "world" folder and copy & paste all the contents of your world(in your "saves" folder) to the "world" folder again. Make sure it is named "world", don't change the name.
- Then, after the eula is agreed, you will need to run the server once again to finish installing the rest of the needed software.
- DONE! Now, whenever you want to start up your server, just use mcrunit.bat!
- You can also change the server properties file to fit your needs.
- If don't want your server to be LAN-only, get Playit. It gives you a custom server adress you can share with anyone anywhere on the world for free! Only the server needs to run the program, not every player! Download it and move the playit.exe program to your server's folder. Now whenever you run the server, MCrunit will automatically run the Playit program as well. Btw, if it's your first time running Playit, follow it's instructions.
- MCrunit is able to run your discord bot (python) and Playit in tandem with the server itself, so if you have one, just rename the .py file to dbot.py and add it to your server's folder. (Eg. "main.py" -> "dbot.py").
