An ex-porn star has been jailed after trying to hire a hitman to murder the father of one of her kids.
Katrina Danforth, 32, who performed under the names Lynn Passion and Lynn Pleasant - was sentenced at a federal court in Idaho after pleading guilty last December to seeking a contract killer.
She was arrested in December 2018 at Spokane International Airport in Washington after the hitman she tried to hire turned out to be an undercover police officer.
Reports say she was given the number of the "hitman" by a friend, and she agreed to meet him in October 2018.
Her would-be victim was identified only as "R.H".
Over three weeks in 2018 before her arrest, Danforth rang the supposed assassin four times and even sent him a "thank you" card along with a downpayment of $2,500 (£1,940).
"This money was the downpayment for the hit with the remaining $2,500 to be paid after R.H. was murdered," Assistant US Attorney Traci Whelan wrote in court documents.
Danforth allegedly gave instructions that the target's body had to be found and that it was alright if others in the house were harmed.
Shortly after her arrest, the adult actress told local news outlet KHQ that she had no idea why US Marshals had cuffed her
"I don't really know, precisely," she said.
Defence attorneys argued Danforth had a troubled childhood, including sexual violence, before getting involved in adult films.
Over the course of her career, Danforth made eight adult films between 2005 and 2010 according to her IMDb page.
They said she had been training to become a paralegal while awaiting sentencing in federal court.
She was also sentenced to three years of probation and a $1,000 (£777) criminal fine.
According to court records, Danforth, who lives in Post Falls, Idaho, has two children, including one with the victim.
Her attorney wrote in court filings that she "did porn for the money".
Court records also show she has been a child care worker and has a licence to do nails, along with training in massage therapy.
