I seriously thought I could not love Luca Vitiello anymore and I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! We first met Luca and Aria in Bound by Honor (BBH) and we only get Aria's POV in BBH. Now, we get Luca's POV and what a view it is. I would never have thought Luca was thinking of this or that in certain scenes that we already have Aria's understanding of. I always wanted to know when he knew he could feel anything at all and we get that moment. Yes!!! I could not put the book down once I started reading it. Luca was born into the mafia and would become Capo, the leader of his family crime organization. He is taught to be cruel and only love the mafia. His father is the absolute worst and it is understandable that Luca would become the tough, ruthless and cold-hearted man he grew up to be. Aria becomes engaged to Luca and his life changes once she becomes his wife. I am a huge fan of Cora Reilly's books and this book did not disappoint. Fans of Cora will greatly enjoy this read and I highly, highly, highly suggest readers read BBH first, but you don't have to because it could be read as a stand alone. I seriously love this series and can't wait for the next release.
This was a very good read that I liked a lot. This was " Bound By Honor" from Luca's POV. Luca was a straight killer this book was everything I expected it to be and more.The book gives us a look at his life growing with a father who was a mob boss who not only beat his sons but also his wives. Luca and Mateo's mother killed herself because she couldn't take him and the lifestyle of the mob anymore. Luca made his first kill at the age of 11. When his cousin set him and Mateo up to be killed Luca crushed his throat with his bare hands earning him the nickname "The Vise". I liked that Luca refused to marry Aria until she was of age although her father and his wanted them to marry right away. Luca hated his father and how he treated his women he was an evil sadistic man who I also hated. On their wedding night Aria was scared that he would force himself on her but Luca didn't he was patient with her. I also liked that he was unwilling to treat her like his father treated his women. Luca knew that he needed to get rid of his father before he caused harm to Aria to hurt him he would do anything to protect her. Luca also a problem when the girl he was banging set them up so Aria could catch him with her and she set Aria up to be roofied and raped. This book also had a lot of action in it with people coming after them. This was a good read with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
Finally- we get to see the events of Bound By Honor from Luca’s POV. Bound by Honor was my first Cora Reilly novel and the one that catapulted me into a mafia genre obsession and an obsession with all of her books. I’ve loved every single one, and Luca and Aria are one of my favorite couples- the more of their story I can have, the better! But, like many of her subsequent tales, we only got the book from Aria’s POV- fortunately, Luca ultimately became more forthcoming with her, so we got to know and love him as she did, and it is always a nice ride to experience the unknown with her heroine when we, too, are blocked from his POV, but I wanted to be inside Luca’s head, especially after Bound by Love let us inside. So, thank you, Cora, for giving us this! Certainly, there are elements of this that are plot points repeated from BBH, but they still feel fresh because we’re finally understanding what Luca thought. Want to know what really happened when Luca first met Aria? When he found out he was promised to a young girl? Want to know what REALLY happened with his nasty ex that Aria witnessed the tail end of? Want to know when he first loved her? This delivers. We also get a window into Luca’s background and daily life that is NEW- that we haven’t read before. His childhood and teenage years, his bond with Matteo, the Famiglia interworkings, the complicated feelings Luca has about his father and mother. We already know and love Luca and know how things end, but man, this made me fall in love with him more. We understand more clearly now why he’s so careful with Aria, how her fear troubles him, Luca’s aspirations and the limited understanding he has of love and care from his background, the pressure he feels to be strong and respected. I didn’t think I could love him more, but this story made me fall even harder. And wow, how beautiful to see Aria through his eyes at this stage of their relationship. You MUST read BBH before reading this, even though it is "Book 0"- don't ruin the experience of reading BBH from soley Aria's POV.. Fans of that story will be enamoured. I love this series so much.
I never knew I needed to be inside Luca’s head until I heard “I was the boy who killed his first man at eleven.” in the voice of Sebastian York! Ok maybe not that line in particular.. more like every time I heard Sebastian growl “Aria”. 😻 I’m familiar with Sebastian’s work and He did not disappoint as Luca Vitiello! He did an amazing job as the rough mafioso! He delivered Luca’s side of Bound by Honor perfectly and I can’t imagine that anyone could’ve done better! When I found out that Cora was releasing Luca’s POV as a full novel, I was interested but not overly excited. WELL, I now know that ANY book written by Cora deserves all the excitement! ⠀ In Luca Vitiello, She gave us everything we didn’t know we were missing! More information about Luca’s mother, his protectiveness for Matteo and the pain they both went through as children of in the Famiglia. We also get the “behind the scenes” information on certain events in Bound by Honor. I really enjoyed the extra mafia moments that came with Luca’s POV!⠀ ⠀ Take away: If you’re a fan of Audiobooks and Cora Reilly’s Born in blood mafia chronicles, this one is a MUST!

The original couple
LUCA VITIELLO (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles 0.5) Cora Reilly This is BOUND BY HONOR in Luca's POV, including an insight from his childhood & teenage years. And his bond with his brother Matteo. Luca was born and raised in the Famiglia by a Father who is the cruellest monster who happens to be the current Capo, until Luca takes his place. Luca is to marry Aria (a daughter from the Chicago Outfit) to bring peace between New York and Chicago. We've seen from Aria's POV in Bound by Honor, how Luca came across as a force to be reckoned with. Now we're being treated by Cora by getting it from Luca's POV. Yes, Luca's a brute. He has to be seen as strong, to be a good Capo, to gain respect, to be feared. Aria is petrified of Luca. He sees this, and it's the last thing he wants as he's seen it from the way his father treated his mother and how he treats his stepmother. He doesn't want to turn into his father. Women have fallen at his feet in the past, he's never had to work for the attention. So he's got his work cut out for himself to gain Aria's trust. Meanwhile the Bratva are causing problems. So Luca has his hands full. Find out how Luca fell completely for Aria.

My favourite couple!
I have been saving this book for when i needed a luca fix! I read this series awhile ago and i was instantly hooked on luca and aria. And luca my god that man owns my heart! I was missing this world and these characters so i knew it was time to read this and just like bound by honor i loved every minute and i loved loved loved getting all my favourite moments in luca's pov hes just the best! I loved getting to revisit this world through luca's eyes. Im a sucker for the whole "i dont know how i feel because ive never felt like this before you" it just melys my heart! And luca dkes just that i love how he has his syrong alpha capo mode but how with aria he lets down those walls and is just so gentle This will always be my favourite mafia series especially because you get a lot of every charcter, the world building is amazing and you get to experience the mafia world it plays such a significant role in the plot and its executed perfectly.

Mafia romance
Told completely from the man's point of view, highlighting the pitfalls of being in the mafia, the violence and murder and an arranged marriage. Definitely a page turner with story driving the characters forward. It's an interesting concept which makes you question what you would do. Being in the mafia there is no freedom and just a blind loyalty to violence and crime. It's no life. The romance is the light in the darkness but will the dark completely submerge the light until there's nothing left. I liked this, well written with good characters and dialogue.A lot of violence and torture. There is a lot of dark themes throughout but given its subject matter it's hardly surprising. Why only three stars, I thought it was rushed. Arias response to what she finds was great but the next few chapters was rushed, she needed to be a little but stronger and stand up for herself. I thought perhaps it would take longer for them to find their groove. Definitely worth a look if you like a dark romance with a strong criminal content.

feel like I know Luca so much better for it.
This is Bound in blood but this time told completely from Luca POV and it was something I was really looking forward to experiencing, basically filling in the blanks and getting some perspective into Luca’s mindset and actions and though I’ve rated this the same it did have a slight edge for me with my enjoyment factor. You really got to understand just how deeply Luca was feeling towards Aria. His inner monologue explained a lot and though I still hate what he did in the initial days of his marriage I did get much more of an insight into the whys of it all. I don’t forgive him quite yet but I do get it. I still wish Grace got more of a comeuppance though she got off so lightly as did Luca. Here you really do get to realise that Luca really cares about Aria and for him despite his vows in blood she is his first priority. So this is basically a rehash of bound in blood just with a few extra scenes thrown in that weren’t in the original. But despite that, I really enjoyed it and feel like I know Luca so much better for it.
If you loved Luca in the first book, your gonna love him so much more by the end of this one. This book was more than just a repeat of the original story from Luca's POV. We get to understand his relationship with his father as well as an insight into his childhood and his bond with his brother Matteo. I loved seeing Aria through his eyes and watching his relationship with Aria develop and seeing Luca come to terms with his feelings for his wife. This series just gets better and better. Definitely Recommend
