Rain held off, so we were able to get 18 holes in today. Course was in great shape, although it was cartpath only. Looking forward to the next 3 days of playing.
Played the Fazio course in the morning and Love course in the afternoon (great replay rate). Both courses were in great shape. Seems a few of the greens have been punched but still rolled very well. Service was great and the pace of at of both rounds were fantastic. Food and service for lunch was great also. Consistently my favorite courses in the north area. Hoping the weather clears up this week so I can get over to the Dye course.
Visited March 18th to 22nd just as the pandemic was starting. Course was in perfect conditions and rounds were played with no interruptions as we were one of the few people out there. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Ate lunch every day at the clubhouse and even though it was takeout only food was delicious. Would love to come back when everything is back to normal and would recommend for any one planning a golf trip to visit.
This was our first of many golf vacations! The courses where mint! Everyone in our 4 some where very happy with the resort and all 4 courses thx for the great experience we will be back from Canada
All courses were in great shape. Both the greens and fairways were in excellent conditions. Folks at the pro shop were very nice and accommodating. We had to move some tee times around and they were able to fit us in. Overall, a very pleasant experience for the whole group.
We (2 players) had a great time at Barefoot. The accommodations were great and we loved the courses - played 9 at Fazio when we arrived, then Dye and Love over the next two days. Pete Dye was maybe our favorite but all the courses were great. The clubhouses were very nice, all the staff was great. The Putters Pub was great - good food and nice pub-like environment. We’d do it again!
We recently played each of the four courses at Barefoot, with a large group. The guys in the pro shop, bag drop and rangers all did a spectacular job in getting us all signed in, bags on the right carts. etc. My favorites in order are Dye, Love Fazio and Norman. The Dye course was wet and the cart paths through the waste bunkers were often muddy. All of the greens on the Dye course are elevated, and surrounded by bunkers or waste bunkers. On two par four's, I hit a really good shots onto the green only to have them roll to the back. On a "regular" course, I would have been left with a putt or chip. On the Fazio course the drop offs are so steep, that my ball ended up in the muddy waste bunker 20 feet below the putting surface. The Dye Course is very much a target course. The golf carts all have GPS, so that is a nice feature. If you haven't played here before, I highly recommend that you start on the Norman or Love course.
Loved it even though it didn't love me back. Great variety of holes. Greens exaggerated my week short game.
Great golf, great location, great service. The golf courses were in phenomenal shape, the condo was perfect for us. I would recommend Barefoot to anyone as a great golf trip.
Top notch service from the minute you get to bag drop. Courses in great shape. It’s not long, but bunkers in certain positions takes driver out of your hand a lot of holes. We played all 4 and Fazio seemed to be best track
I do not have any other trips to compare it to, But my trip to Barefoot golf was wonderful. The staff were all top notch. Played all four courses and did 9 hole replays. I found the courses were all fair and the greens were especially tough. As far as the condo which aren’t affiliated with the golf were well kept. Could use better furniture only had one chair worth sitting in. Which is a little tough for four tired men to relax. Hope to make it back next year.
A great time.... and each course has it's own unique character. It is not like playing to same course four times. The facilities from clubhouse to bag drop and starters kept tons of people cycling through like a well-oiled machine.
I can’t express enough what a great experience I had with Barefoot Golf Club! I emailed the General Manager, Dave, with a question about trying to deliver a surprise gift to my boyfriend who was staying and golfing at the resort. I was having difficulty arranging delivery since the resort accommodations are run by third parties and there is no “front desk” to deliver to. Not only did Dave respond to me right away (on his day off) – he called me personally and coordinated/communicated with the staff at the golf clubhouse to look out for the package and ensure that it got delivered to the guest. He even followed up with me once the package arrived on site, letting me know he personally delivered the package to the club staff and they were getting a message to my boyfriend out on the course that he had a gift waiting at the clubhouse. Dave went out of his way to assist me and make sure that my surprise went off without a hitch. This was most certainly Customer Service at its absolute finest!
I expected a lot more from the Barefoot resort golf courses. Staff was extremely useless and not what we expected. A group of 20 of us went on a golf trip and played all 4 courses. Greens were mediocre at best. The Norman course we may as well have putted on sand traps as they were all COVERED in sand. Out of the 20 golfers none of us felt that the greens were even adequate. All 20 of us are decent golfers with handicaps ranging from a scratch to 20. Not one golfer felt that the greens were consistent or fair. You'd either blow your ball 10 feet past the hole or be 5 yards short. The Dye was a good course and greens were better however staff was extremely rude. Not only did 20 of us spend $8,000 to play golf they made us pay $100 to store our clubs for ONE night. PLUS they promised us dinner on Sunday at the Dye and we found out before our round they weren't even open for dinner just before our round. Seems to me like all they care about is money and not the experience. Ive been to Myrtle Beach the past 3 years and the Barefoot resort was by far the most inadequate. From a course that generally has great reviews and a good reputation I am extremely disappointed.
This is a quality resort. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our package included all four courses. They are all fair, but tough. If you play the Dye course, you had better bring your “A” game. That course will mess with you. Our group has a trip once a year to different resorts. We all agreed that this is in our top four. We’ll return here in the future.
I golf with a bunch of buddies every year on my birthday at different locations and this year we golfed Barefoot. Excellent course conditions, excellent staff in the pro shop, in the restaurant, on the course! Just a great overall experience! And a SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Reservations Department. They were EXTREMELY helpful throughout the entire process!
Our stay at Barefoot Landing was great. Condo (River Crossing) was spacious and suited us well. The staff at Barefoot clubhouse was excellent in all respects. Golf courses (Norman, Love, Fazio) where in great condition. We recommend for any golfer.
Played the Fazio. Its fine. Probably a 4/5. Issues I have are minimal water stops, you don't pass the club house after 9 and the grumpy cart girl doesn't accept credit cards. Seemingly easy to fix details that have a major downer on a round. I ended up having to drive 10 holes ahead to grab a Powerade and a candy bar by but that point the round is over.
Played the Dye course on July 31, 2019. Made tee times online quickly and without any issues. Showed up to golf course 30 minutes early and security guard greeted us with a smile, verified our tee times, and gave us directions to clubhouse. 2 guys met us at bag pickup and loaded our carts. ProShop was a bit crowded but less than 10 minutes until we were headed to our carts. Cost was $69/rd as rates were half price on Wed. The course was in absolutely perfect condition, especially for that time of year. Carts had GPS to the pin. You could touch the screen and get distance to any point on the hole so you can leave your range finders in the car. The course has lots and lots of wasted bunkers, some that you can drive the cart through. Not as much water as I would have thought but the holes that had it were awesome. Pace of play was perfect. We waited one time all day and never felt pushed by the group behind us. If you play the black tees, you better have a solid handicap of 7 or below. Whites are the standard play but can be bit much if you shoot in the middle to high 80s. We have now played over a dozen courses in the area and this course now sits atop the list. And you add in the low cost on Wednesdays, you can't beat it!!! Great course to spend your time and money on.Hal
Played Norman and Fazio and they are both Gorgeous!!! Grouped up with a member it was like having a personal caddie!! Great pace of play. I cant wait to come back and play Dye & Love.
The golf was fantastic! However, when we opened the door to our villa we found that they we doing construction and completely blocked the balcony door and window with a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood so that we could not go outside. We informed Barefoot Vacation Rentals of this and they had a too bad there is nothing we can do about because we are all sold out. They even lied stating they thought all the construction was supposed to have been done by the time we got in but if yo could see how much needed to be done on our villa as well as the others in the complex there is no way they could not have known. I asked them to at least try to rectify the situation and they told me i could try somewhere else (its 4th of July weekend by the way). This was our first time using Barefoot golf and the last time because they do not care about their guests.
The pro shop staff, bag attendants, and on rangers were all very nice and helpful. Even though one of the courses had punched greens (we were told in advance they would be) they were all in great shape. The only issue we had was the pace of play on the Love course, but I am assuming the pace was typical of most resort courses (it took us 5 hours on Sunday morning).
Wish i could give 6 stars for my review instead of 5. Barefoot Golf deserves it. Have been coming down to North Myrtle Beach for vacation for 4 years in a row. I always make sure there is time during my stay for a round or two at Barefoot. The courses are phenomenal, regardless of your skill level. Fun enough to play with buddies, and challenging enough to go low for a new best score. Out of all 4 courses, my personal favorite is Love and Dye. But it is hard to pick from 4 great courses. Today I had the pleasure to play a round on Norman. Course was in phenomenal shape! Greens were outstanding, fairways and rough in great shape also. Management is doing a great job this year keeping this course in amazing shape with all the rain and warm weather this season. If you are reading through golf reviews on Google in the Myrtle Beach area, look at Barefoot. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Prices might be slightly higher than other rounds close NMB, but it is well worth it. Exceptional value for the product Barefoot puts out there for golf. Not too much negative with my experience today. Staff was welcoming and friendly from the clubhouse, to the starter, to the bag drop off employees. It's refreshing to get A+ service a nice golf club like this. We played in the morning around 9am. The temperatures were already in the 80s. Pace of play was great and they had cart attendants driving around regularly with water and ice. A lot of places won't do this.A side note to the review and round- Barefoot also offers discounts on Wednesdays. Basically a deep discounted round which runs all day. Amazing deal. Also, there is a beautiful driving range with free range balls before your round to warm up. It was nice to get a solid warm up in before we started. So i highly recommend this course and can't wait to come back and play!
Barefoot Resort & Golf is an exceptional experience in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. The Resort itself is clean and comfortable although a touch dated and could use some updating. The rooms were extremely spacious and clean. The card locks on our front doors didn’t work that well so that was a problem. The golf courses were in great shape and gorgeous as well as the clubhouse. My six buddies and I had a great golf vacation!!
Room was great. View was excellent. The only problem was the pool closes at 10. Which makes no sense since you have to use a key to use it. Wasp nest on the patio. Toilet paper and different toiletries were not supplied. Other than that it was a great stay.
Played both the Dye and Love course. Both were in great shape but club overbooked tee times causing massive wait times at each hole. I would not recommend playing when in season. I feel sorry for their members....
A real tough test for golfers of all skill levels. Top shelf operation on a terrific set of layouts. Course conditions are superior - greens hold and putt true. Lots of bunkers all over the place which eat golf balls. Fair but tough.
Last Friday we played a round at the Norman course that took almost 6 hours. Teed off at 10:36 and didn't finish until 4:15. All groups ahead of us were waiting on other groups, and there was not one ranger on the course moderating the situation. After the round I went into the pro shop to ask what the issue was, and their response was that it was a "full tee sheet" that day. This does not explain a 6 hour round if your tee times are spaced appropriately and a ranger is moderating pace of play. To make it worse, the beverage cart didn't offer any real food and the course does not return to the clubhouse after the 9th hole. So our group was extremely hungry from this 6 hour round. I asked the pro shop if they would give us some food vouchers to accomodate for the inconvenience but we were denied. We were instead offered a free additional 9 holes of golf if we wanted to re-play. After a SIX hour round, their concession to me was to offer MORE golf?? I told them that with the amount of money we paid to play (~$150), this was unacceptable. In return, I was offered a "sincere apology". I will never be going back to play these courses. They are nice, but there are better courses in Myrtle Beach with no pace of play issues like this.
Played the Fazio course at Barefoot. Difficult but playable. Very good condition. Excellent service. This is one to try on your next golf trip.
My son and I spent four nights, and played four rounds on Barefoot's four courses. The accommodations in the villa were outstanding - clean, spacious, fully equipped, and with a beautiful view of the Norman course from the balcony. The service in all areas was A1 the whole time, and the golf courses were very challenging, scenic, beautifully conditioned, and really fun to play - all of them. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in all respects, and I look forward to doing another trip like this to Barefoot in the future. I highly recommend a golf trip to Barefoot for anyone who enjoys playing great courses with very friendly service!
Best golf trip I've ever been on! Everyone connected with Barefoot Resorts could not have been nicer and treated us great. The courses were magnificent, plush and in great shape and beautiful. We'll be back for sure!
Beautiful courses and great people, especially the friendly staff in the bar/restaurant. Courses are very challenging, especially the waste/fairway bunker areas on the Norman course. The Love and Fazio courses pose a fair but tough challenge. The Dye course was terrific, but with the wind blowing stiff it was more than a challenge.
This was a great course. Even greater was the accommodations.
I had the displeasure of staying at the Barefoot Resort recently. I've vacationed with them in the previous years and always enjoyed my time there. The holidays were approaching and I wanted to do something outside of the traditional norm for this Christmas 2017, so I booked a condo at The Havens golf villa room 1822. The first few hours were lovely my husband and I cooked with my children laughing in the background. We decided to go to sleep around 11pm because we planned to take the kids out Christmas shopping at the Tanger outlet. That never happened because my children awoke me telling me they saw bed bugs. Horrified! I went into the living area and in the chair was a living bed bug, my daughter yelled for me to come in their bedroom because she saw another bed bug. Mortified! I snapped pictures of those devils and immediately got on the phone calling Beach Vacations. The night manager attempted to soothe me by offering another condominium, but my husband and I were livid, we just wanted our money back. It's now 1 am in the morning and we're driving all the way back home on Christmas eve. Everyone in my family literally stripped outside of our home because I didn't want to run the risk of taking any of those critters inside. I threw away all my luggage because I wasn't able to wash and dry them. I'm having my home checked just for good measure. I had an issue with these critters back in 2009 and spent a fortune getting rid of them. Barefoot landing refunded our money but cost me so much more. They are clearly unaware of the stress and anxiety these critters cause. My heart tells me they were aware of this problem yet they still decided to rent this condo. I hope they use thermo heat to get rid of them, but they have clearly left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never stay in any other condo or hotel chain again in my life. My sanity is more important. Thanks Beach Vacations for the worse Christmas vacation experience ever. It's a shame I had to leave a star because I definitely don't agree with that. I wish I could post all the pictures. The condo could also use a lot of tlc before renting again. Why so light a carpet when you intend to receive lots of traffic? Vacationers beware!
Played the Dye course which is very interesting and challenging course in great condition. If you stay on the fairways and out of all of the ha
