Lost Pages of Taborea Community Guide to Runes of Magic

Welcome to the new Runes of Magic column here at Massively. The Varanas Council ordered that I bring you the latest news from Taborea every Monday. If I fail to meet this requirement I will be compelled to undertake endless repeatable quests within the Ystra Highlands. This is fine if I weren't a charter member of the Society for the Preservation of the Ystra Ferret. You can see how I can't let this happen. So you, dear readers, reap the benefits of me staying timely and bringing you gobs of interesting and useful information, and also saving some cute fuzzy ferrets at the same while.

With that, Let's dive into our very first article with a selection of sites and resources that will help the potential Taborean traveler started leveling and exploring.

Official Runes of Magic site - This is the official website. Having said that, it is beneficial to keep up with the announcements of news and contests, technical issues, and any other Item Mall specials they may have going on.

Official Forums - This section covers the majority of the common forum requirements. Visit them for the great job they do with posting patches notes. You will find any changes to the game's operations in patch notes.

Facebook - RoM also has different Facebook accounts to serve different language servers, just as Twitter. I like keeping tabs on the US and International accounts. Both are in English and let you interact with a wider audience, particularly when you have players on US or International servers.

YouTube YouTube YouTube is a better alternative to Facebook and Twitter. You only need one YouTube account to bookmark. It's mostly a repository for all the English and German videos in the respective languages that are already available on the official websites for both languages. It's faster to find and view the videos.

Runes of Magic Wiki is your best resource for all things how-to. This is a great site for novices to learn about the fundamental game mechanics as well as advanced charts that enable them to theory craft every rune combination.

Getbuffed.com/runesdb.com - Some prefer one over the other, but they are both great resources for items, NPCs, weapons, armor, you get the picture. It's the same with Wowhead. Both of them offer nice tools for scraping character information and share profiles offline.

Curse.com - RoM utilizes the Lua scripting language to allow further personalization of the user interface and game's functionality through addons. You can increase the number of damage meters and mailbox functions, among other things. There are over 300 add-ons that can enhance your gaming experience. If you like coding, you can create your own addon that you can share with the community.

Twitter Official US Twitter account for RoM. I also discovered GM Eres account in a box, buried under a sea of snow. Be aware that every location has its own account. You can find additional official accounts for the game by visiting the US account or by visiting the main page for your server's location.

This is it. Although it doesn't cover all the information, it covers the majority of the essential resources. If you do have a tip or three, you can drop me a line at jeremy[AT]massively[DOT]com
