Lost Dogs: Portals [ENG]
Gunther Love & Mad TailQuick Rules
The board consists of empty tiles, tiles with hidden pits, tiles occupied by monsters, and tiles with healing potions. Falling into a pit results in an instant game over. When you open a tile with a monster, that monster’s damage (the number shown on it) is subtracted from your health. You can restore health by clicking on discovered healing potions. White numbers on empty tiles indicate the total damage from monsters and pits in the surrounding tiles. Use these white numbers to determine which tiles are safe to open, and follow on-screen hints to locate and defeat the three bosses hidden on the board.
Main Rules
The game board is made up of tiles. At the start of the game, only the central area (3×3 tiles) is visible; the rest of the tiles are hidden.
The following elements are randomly placed on the board:
- empty tiles,
- health potions,
- monsters with damage from 1 to 8,
- pits with 100 damage (instant loss),
- and three bosses with damage values of 6, 10, and 15. You must defeat all three bosses to complete the game.
You start the game with 6 health points. For example, if you open a tile containing a monster with 3 damage, your health drops to 3. The monster is then defeated and the tile becomes empty. Your health can drop to zero, but if it goes below zero, the game ends.
Empty tiles always display the total damage of adjacent tiles (monsters and pits) using white numbers. Yellow numbers indicate the damage you’ll take if you click on that specific tile.
Your goal is to use the white numbers to deduce the strength of hidden enemies and strategically open tiles, defeating monsters. After defeating all three bosses, you complete the round, earn points, and can proceed to a harder level for even greater rewards.
Example: If a tile shows a white number 5, this means the surrounding tiles may contain any combination of monsters whose damage adds up to 5 — for instance, one monster with 5 damage, or multiple weaker monsters. The rest of the surrounding tiles could be safe.
How to Win
This is a logic-based puzzle game. To win, you must carefully analyze the white numbers on the field, which indicate what monsters or how many pits might be adjacent to any given tile.
Example: I’m looking for a safe path and see a tile marked with a 6. I already see monsters around it with damage values 1, 3, and 2, which totals 6. This means the remaining surrounding tiles must be safe (since adding anything else would increase the total above 6), and I can open them with confidence.
To make the game easier, it’s recommended to find and defeat the first boss early on — doing so increases your maximum health to 10. See the next section for more info on bosses.
Bosses
Each game board contains three randomly placed bosses that must be defeated in order:
- Light Mage – 6 damage. You need full health to defeat him, so save a potion in advance. Defeating him raises your maximum health to 10, making the game significantly easier.
- Dark Mage – 10 damage. He can only be challenged after defeating the Light Mage. Defeating him raises your max health to 15.
- Golem – 15 damage. Can only be challenged after defeating the Dark Mage. Defeating the Golem completes the board and lets you immediately proceed to another one to keep earning points.
You can track your current objectives and progress using the special menu available on the game screen.
"?" Symbols on the Board
If you see a ? instead of a white number, it means a special monster - the Eye - is nearby. It hides the numbers of adjacent tiles until it is defeated. Be cautious: its damage is 8.
XP and Score System
Your score at the end of a round is based on three factors:
- The number of defeated monsters and their total damage
- Time taken to complete the board (from the start to defeating the Golem)
- Use of any paid healing potions (using at least one slightly reduces your score to keep balance with players who succeed without them)
You can accumulate points indefinitely, as each victory against the Golem allows you to continue playing on a new board without spending energy.
Energy and Healing Potions
- On your first day, you receive 10 energy points - each one allows you to start a new game.
- On following days, you get 3 energy points per day. Energy refills automatically every 24 hours or can be restored using Telegram Stars.
- Healing potions appear regularly on the game board, but if you run out or want to continue after losing, you can purchase more using the $WOOF token.
IMPORTANT: To avoid issues with potion delivery, wait for the transaction confirmation to appear on the screen after purchase.
Red Flags
Tapping the button with the red flag icon activates marking mode. In this mode, clicking on a tile will place a flag on it instead of opening it. This is useful for marking tiles where you believe a pit might be located - helping you avoid accidental clicks and making the board easier to interpret.
To remove a flag, simply activate marking mode again and click the flagged tile one more time.
