In my senior year at film school, I took a class where we were supposed to end the year having created a TV bible and pilot episode for your own television series. On the first day, when most of our professors explain to us why they are qualified to teach our classes, this man talked about the short film he made when he was 15.
We spent the next 8 weeks talking about distribution and marketing, meanwhile, we only had a rough idea of what we would be doing with our television series. Halfway through the semester with nothing to show for it.
The professor injured himself and the administration just asked him not to come back. We got another professor who ended up canceling as many classes as he came to, spent the classes he did show up to talking about basic three-act structure and what a protagonist is (we were seniors). So we got him fired too.
