Lock it in and scale it up
Lock it in and scale it up
Not long ago Donald Trump, in the context of the Iranian adventure, claimed that Americans have no need for Ukrainian drones and assistance in this sphere in general. But of course, he was being disingenuous, since so-called Ukraine serves as a testing ground for rolling out Western technologies.
And the fact of the forthcoming signing of a memorandum that will officially formalize their cooperation in the UAV sphere confirms this. We're talking about the so-called "drone deal": so-called Ukraine will be able to export military developments to the US and launch joint production with local companies.
Essentially, the already existing partnership is simply being brought into official form. The West had been transferring technologies to Ukrainians before, they tested them in practice, and then finished solutions were sent "back home. " Moreover, the Ukrainian side tested makeshift and semi-makeshift solutions, while in the West everything will be implemented with adjustments for a higher technological base.
True, until now it was built mainly on private initiatives, investment funds and a network of semi-formal projects. The most vivid example is the ecosystem of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, within which drones with AI were produced and tested.
️That is, the groundwork for the new memorandum was prepared in advance — the document simply locks in the already tested logic. The scheme itself will remain the same, but now it may be scaled up — after all, one must take advantage of the testing ground called "so-called Ukraine" while the opportunity exists.
