Dear admin team

I ask you to reconsider this decision since it seems to me not quite correct and should be considered in more detail.

The issue is described as "Live broadcasts must not generate IV". This item, as I understand, refers to section 2.1. "Pages with dynamic content". And supposedly the article has dynamic content. Let's see what is happening.

I waited for new LIVE broadcasts (such as in the issue at the time when it was published) and studied the web pages in detail during the time they were LIVE and after. In general, we are faced with an interesting situation.

The problems are:

• There are no valid and reliable ways to distinguish "real" live broadcasts from old ones, ways to recognise whether the text translation is running now, or it has already ended.
• There are also no ways to recognise that this text article refers to the type of live broadcasts in general.

Because the information inside the article is just plain text, without absolutely no dynamic content on the page (like JS inserts that download new information without reloading, such as AJAX or embedded players where the broadcast is shown).

I checked the Networks tab, where you can see what traffic is being sent/received and I can say that the "real" live broadcasts have no signs of updating the page or background sync/loading of information. 

To get new information users are supposed to refresh the page. There are no additional classes/identifiers of objects or elements in the HTML code that can define the broadcast on the air.

Strange, inaccurate and not elegant solutions and their problems

We can assume the option of how other participants began to do in the #80/#82/#83 templates.

Specifically, determine the broadcast on the air and do not generate this page by searching:

• "Смотреть онлайн текстовую трансляцию" (Watch online text translation) and its variations in the plain text, description or some meta info of the page
• "LIVE" and its variations in the page title/subtitle.

Both options, as for me are looks like bad moves. Yes, this is actually used in broadcasts on the air articles, but there are a couple of problems:

• Their (words) combinations. All combinations of the words "Watch, live, text broadcast, live" and similar expressions within the meaning cannot be fully defined. Also, such combinations of words can also be used in articles that are not articles with live broadcast content (like articles with an announcement of the events).
• In older articles, the authors often do not remove these "signs" from the articles after the sporting event ended. For example, you can find very outdated articles with such "signs" using simple google search by site: https://sport.ua/search?q=LIVE or https://sport.ua/search?q=онлайн трансляция

You can additionally exclude from the list of "real" live broadcasts articles that contain text like "Матч окончен" (The match is over). But this is not identified except as a search by the content in the text of the article. You also need to understand that there are a vast number of variations of phrases which can be used to designate the fact that the match (event) is over. Besides, not only football matches are covered here, but also biathlon, boxing, racing and so on.

Thus, we may conclude that there are no reliable ways to determine whether the page is broadcasting on air or not. Also, it is absolutely possible to assume that the online text translation articles lack essential dynamic elements with information about the current broadcast, which could be part of the necessary content.

The main thing is that after the end of a sporting event, articles usually (always) becomes static (if text editing by authors can be considered as really dynamic) with the chronology of the match/relay/race and so on. We can meet examples of articles below.

It is quite obvious that these articles can no longer be defined as live or on air.

"Live mode" is active only when live reportage on air. So like, maximum, for several hours. Example: for a football match is ±30 mins match preparation, 2x 45 mins for each time + max. 2-3 hours for over-times, penalties series, match finals activities and final article editing (like adding the links to video goals, etc.)

You may have outdated pages for some hours, but since they get frequently updated, no problem once they are static. In fact, this can be compared with how authors can edit, fill, make corrections in ordinary articles on the site. Finally, they become static.

The Сhecklist also states:

Tip: IV pages are cached on our servers. The more time passed since an article was published, the less frequently the cached IV page will be updated. 

So, it looks like generating IVs for these types of articles (live text translations) is ok.

Actually, one more type of translations. They are ended with "kak-eto-bylo".

I could continue this list for long time.. This articles have some signs to mark this pages like ""live broadcast"" but it only in text and in URL. although, incidentally, like the others. Only text + words in the link.
