THE ex-fiance of a woman caught in an office romp with a co-worker has spoken about the scandal for the first time.
THE ex-fiance of a woman caught up having sex with a co-worker in a Christchurch office says their engagement was already over before the romp went worldwide.
The man, identified only as Josh, told a New Zealand radio station he had already split with his partner when footage of her having sex with a colleague surfaced on social media.
The steamy encounter at insurance company Marsh Ltd was photographed and filmed by scores of people at the busy Carlton Bar opposite, who then posted the images online. The lovers apparently thought the tinted windows would give them privacy.
Speaking to The Edge radio station this morning, Josh said the situation “was sad for everyone involved really”.
They had already separated and were no longer engaged as had been previously reported.
He hadn’t spoken to his ex-fiance this week and only become aware of the scandal when he saw it on the news, according to the New Zealand Herald .
Josh stayed at her house the night of the office encounter and drove her to her car the next morning. She came home late that night but didn’t tell him what had gone on.
He knew the man involved but hadn’t met him. It was “a shame” what happened.
“She a really nice person, she never made any mistakes, but unfortunately she made this one and it’s gone worldwide.”
It was her birthday yesterday and he wished her well, he said.
“You don’t want to see your ex on the telly doing that [but] it’s got nothing to do with me.”
Stuff.co.nz reported the man’s wife found out about her partner’s affair from Facebook and has been crying “non-stop”.
The woman, in her 20s, has deleted her Facebook page.
A Marsh insider said the lovers may not be fired, but they could not continue working together.
The insider added that Marsh bosses don’t want to rush through the disciplinary process as they might not have a case for dismissal. The sex-romp couple have not returned to work since the scandal exploded.
“Marsh are going to take their time,” the source told the New Zealand Herald.
Company chief Grant Milne expressed his disappointment in a statement on Monday.
“Marsh is very disappointed by the conduct of two colleagues at our Christchurch premises,” he said.
“The inappropriate actions of those two individuals are not representative of the many professional colleagues we have at Marsh.”
A spokeswoman said the company would not provide additional comment until an internal investigation was completed.
Meanwhile the man’s wife, who found out about her hubby’s extramarital affair on social media, is being supported by her friends. The couple have children.
“[His wife’s] friends are fuming and rallying around her,” a source told New Zealand Herald.
Footage of the illicit affair went viral on Friday night when the workers stripped off and got down in their office with the lights on.
“Opposite the Carlton bar where the whole pub knew about it and was watching, while they were totally oblivious to it. And afterwards celebrating with wine,” witness Alex Wilton wrote on Facebook, alongside photos of the man and woman.
It is understood the pair thought the tinted windows in the office would stop anyone from looking in, TVNZ reported .
“Everyone knew about it,” Mr Wilton told 3 News . “The band that was playing at the time stopped because everyone else was more interested in watching them ... We all had a good laugh. It was the highlight of the night.”
Privacy Commissioner John Edwards told Radio New Zealand that it was unlikely the couple would be able to sue for breach of privacy.
The fate of the unnamed lovers is not yet known.
Their sex life was always “mediocre” but now it’s non-existent and this husband doesn’t think he can spend the rest of his life without sex.
A fitness influencer has revealed one of her “sex secrets” to make her relationship appear balanced when it comes to what happens in the bedroom.
A non profit is pushing for a powerful new classification on non-consensual acts in film and TV to educate Aussies.
