Before you arrange to have any work performed, ask how the shop prices its work. Some shops charge a flat rate for labor on auto repairs. This published rate is based on an independent or manufacturer’s estimate of the time required to complete repairs. Others charge on the basis of the actual time the technician worked on the repair. The flat rate time schedule has been established from the actual time to perform the repair plus (+) 30% correction factor up to 3.0 hours and (+) 15% over 3.0 hour times for: • boat handling • diagnosis • cleaning • obtaining the parts • special compensation (rust) • test We welcome suggestions for changes, please use attached form.
