She plays protagonist Abby McCarthy in the hit US drama, Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce.
But for Lisa Edelstein, the role has meant stripping down and shooting steamy scenes in the bedroom – something her real-life husband, Robert Russell, is not too thrilled about.
Opening up about filming intimate scenes, the 49-year-old told The Daily Telegraph : ‘I got married the day before I started this job to a man who is not in the industry.

‘For him it was very challenging to understand what those (sex) scenes are, what it means for me to be doing those scenes.’
The American actress – who is best known for playing Dr. Lisa Cuddy on popular series House – tied the knot with artist Robert in Los Angeles in 2014.
‘On a personal level there were a lot of conversations around what it is like,’ she added. ‘I had never really had to think about it before because I was never married.
Being frank: Opening up about filming intimate scenes, the 49-year-old told The Daily Telegraph, ‘I got married the day before I started this job to a man who is not in the industry'
‘I was in relationships but not like the one that I have with my husband who is the only man I ever wanted to marry. That was complicated.’
Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce sees Edelstein play a successful author whose upbeat depiction of her family life belies a disintegrating marriage to filmmaker Jake, who is played by Paul Adelstein.
Speaking soon after she bagged the lead role, the star confessed: ‘I have never had an opportunity like this before in my life. It says something about where the world is.

‘To be able to tell a story about this lively, sexual human being who's in her 40s, that alone is something that wouldn't have happened when I started in this business.’
Her character’s close circle includes pals and divorce veterans Lyla (Janeane Garofalo) and Phoebe (Beau Garrett), and her brother Max (Patrick Huesinger).
Meanwhile, Edelstein first made her mark in comedy with appearances on The Larry Sanders Show and Seinfeld.
Since then she tried her hand with drama, landing roles in Relativity, The West Wing and Ally McBeal before playing Hugh Laurie’s on-screen love interest in House.
