Liquid OS 27: Privacy Policy

Liquid OS 27

Effective: 27 October 2026

Liquid OS 27 ("the launcher") is a home screen app for Android, made by SidStuff, its developer on Google Play. This page says what the launcher handles, where it goes, and for how long.

In short

  • The launcher has no accounts and no ads, and sells nothing about you.
  • What it reads to show your home screen stays on your phone: your apps, notifications, calendar, contacts and photos are never sent.
  • It sends how it's used and its crash reports to the developer through Google's Firebase, to make it better. You can turn that off in Settings ▸ Analytics & Improvements ▸ Share Analytics.
  • The Weather widget and the Depth Effect's use of Google's ML Kit also send something, as below.

What stays on your phone

The launcher reads these only to show them to you, keeps what it needs in its own storage on the phone, and never sends them anywhere:

  • Your apps, their icons and shortcuts, through Android's launcher APIs; and when you open them, to suggest apps and rank search results.
  • Notifications, if you allow notification access: how many each app has, for the dots, and whether an ongoing one is a call or a timer, with its clock, for the Island. Their text only if you turn on the launcher's Lock Screen, to show them there as Android's lock screen would; never kept or sent.
  • Your calendar, if you allow it: the next events, for the Calendar and Up Next widgets.
  • Your contacts, if you allow it: for contact search and the Contacts widget.
  • Photos you pick, for your wallpaper and the Photos widget, through Android's photo picker. The launcher keeps a copy of each one you pick.
  • Your settings and home screen layout. Android's own backup may copy your settings to your Google account, as it does for other apps. The layout leaves the phone only as a file you choose to export.

What leaves your phone

  • Analytics and crash reports. While Share Analytics is on (it is until you turn it off in Settings ▸ Analytics & Improvements), the launcher sends Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, for the developer: which of its screens and features you open, where an app was opened from (the home, the dock, a folder, the drawer or search), which settings you change, what you do on its Lock Screen, and which permissions you allow; its settings, such as the theme and the home grid; crash reports, with the state of the launcher when it stopped; and an identifier Firebase makes for this installation, with your phone's model, Android version, language and country (from your network, not your location). It never sends which apps you have or open, what you search for, your contacts, calendar, notifications or photos, or an advertising ID. Turning Share Analytics off stops all of it. See Firebase's privacy information.
  • Weather. When you add a city to the Weather widget, the name you type goes to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to find it, and the chosen cities' coordinates go to Open-Meteo's forecast service, over an encrypted connection. The launcher never asks for your location. See Open-Meteo's terms.
  • The Depth Effect. To set your wallpaper's subject in front of the clock, Google's ML Kit looks at the photo on your phone. The photo never leaves it. ML Kit's model is fetched through Google Play services the first time, and ML Kit may send Google diagnostics and usage statistics, with identifiers for your device and this installation, never your photos. See ML Kit's terms. You can turn the Depth Effect off in Settings ▸ Wallpaper.
  • Updates. The launcher asks Google Play whether an update is available, through the Play Store app on your phone.
  • Bug reports, in test versions before 1.0.0: a report of the launcher's own errors is made on your phone and holds nothing of yours. Sharing it opens the email app you choose with the report addressed to the developer, and it leaves only if you send it.

How long it's kept

What the launcher keeps stays on your phone until you remove it, clear the launcher's storage, or uninstall it. What Firebase receives is deleted automatically: analytics about your installation after 2 months, and crash reports after 90 days. Turning Share Analytics off stops anything more being sent.

Children

The launcher isn't directed at children under 13, and knowingly collects nothing about children.
