Last night, Miley Cyrus stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she managed to wear pounds of sequins while still being totally topless. The talk show host made an impressive effort to maintain eye contact with Miley throughout the interview, despite the fact that she was wearing heart-shaped pasties so sparkly it must have seemed like shooting stars were coming from her chest.
He did a good job — they talked about everything from her upcoming VMA gig to her Snoop Dogg-loving grandmother, her stance as a vegan nudist, and her very accurate observation that Americans aren't scared of breasts but are straight-up terrified of nipples (which, true).
The interview was thoroughly entertaining — but not as much as the skit in which the singer dressed up as a Sarah Palin-twinning TV reporter to talk to strangers on the street about Miley Cyrus. She donned a wig, adopted an admirable Australian accent, and was so convincing that only one person actually recognized her. "[I don't like] her style, and her dad. I don't like her whole family," one man told her. "The whole fabric of America is falling apart and she's not doing anything to keep it together."
An elderly woman said, shaking her head dramatically, that Miley must have lost her mind in the Hollywood madness. Miley, impressively self-aware, just grinned. You can't blame the elderly woman for not knowing that if anyone in Hollywood hasn't lost her mind to the madness, it's Miley.
