An Irish man has been arrested in Peru after the seizure of 55kg of cocaine. The year-old was one of three detained by police in the capital city Lima. They had been under surveillance by detectives from Peru's anti-drugs unit, known as Dirandro. Police stopped a rented Nissan car and found suitcases containing the cocaine. The Irish man was arrested along with a British citizen and a Bulgarian. The three men had been under surveillance since entering Peru separately on 21 July, when they were filmed greeting each other at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport.
