Like Telltale's other Work
Minecraft's silent landscaper Steve is leaving his solitary world and entering Telltale's realm of stories: Minecraft is getting a "narrative-driven" game from the folks behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones games. Similar to Telltale's other games, Minecraft: Story Mode will be episodic and available on a variety of platforms when it comes out "some time in 2015." Evidently, Microsoft's pledge to keep Minecraft multiplatform is proving to be true, despite the acquisition.
Telltale describes the game as a partnership with Mojang and says it won’t exist as an attachment for Minecraft. Instead, it will be a standalone series "driven by the preferences of players." Minecraft servers Both Mojang and Telltale point out that they're working with the community to develop the story, and Mojang specificaly says "We're not planning to create an official story for Steve (the main character in Minecraft], or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail."
There aren't any videos or images of the game's gameplay yet, but we're expecting a similar, distinct art style similar to the style of Minecraft.
