Cotton enlisted artists including Ryan McGinness and Natalie Frank to contribute to the 'Take Home a Nude' benefit auction.
Even when artists are working with the same subject, the results can be dramatically different, reflecting their personal style, choice of medium, and other artistic decisions. This fundamental truth will be in evidence at the New York Academy of Art ’s “ Take Home a Nude ” benefit auction, where 112 artists, from Ryan McGinness to Natalie Frank, have each donated distinctly unique drawings made of the same nude models.
They both took part in Will Cotton ’s annual Drawing Party, in which the painter enlists fellow New York artists to get together and sketch nude models for “Take Home a Nude.” The gala, now in its 26th year, takes place tonight at Sotheby’s Upper East Side headquarters, honoring artist John Alexander.

Guests will have the chance to rub elbows with the likes of Princess Beatrice of York, Brooke Shields, Chris Noth, Padma Lakshmi, and Naomi Watts; and purchase works from such luminaries as Christo, Eric Fischl, Walter Robinson, and Kiki Smith.
What sets “Take Home a Nude” apart from other benefit auctions is the section of figure drawing works. Although a fundamental part of any arts education, the practice is overlooked among many professional artists. Back in 2002, when Cotton, an academy grad, was looking to do more figurative work, he realized he needed to get back to basics, and return to figure drawing.

“To keep myself in practice, I have to practice,” he explained. Cotton hosts regular drawing parties at his studio, which he believes fosters “a sense of community” among participating artists. “I love the New York Academy,” he added. “They taught me a lot of what I know, a long time ago.”
The theme for Cotton’s 2017 Drawing Party was the sons and daughters of the art world. Glenn O’Brien’s son, Oscar; Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn’s daughter, Coco; Anne Pasternak and Mike Starn’s daughter, Paris; and Barbara Gladstone’s grandson, Eli, joined the nude models, albeit fully clothed, each posing for 20 minutes.

Academy president David Kratz called “Take Home a Nude” a “celebration of the work that our artists are doing,” noting that the benefit is essential to the school’s continued success.
It also helps produce some pretty great art. “It’s remarkable. Same exact pose, same model, and all these different interpretations,” said Cotton. “That’s why we do it, why drawing from a live model is important.

Wow! Bella Hadid, 25, also donned the designer, putting on a very busty display in a leather corset and sheer tights
Bella Hadid opted for a Burberry ensemble designed by Riccardo Tisci to make an appearance at the Met Gala.
She chose a sexy leather-looking corset that highlighted her great figure, lace leggings and a chiffon shawl and skirt. Bella finished her ensemble with lace gloves, a pearl embellished anklet and heeled sandals.
Not your usual black occasionwear, but that’s what the Met Gala is for, right? You can make it like Bella and go for a corset top to make a statement on your next night out or dinner party. Wear it with denim for a casual ensemble or with a midi skirt for an elegant look.

The half-Palestinian, half-Dutch beauty wore her raven locks in a Grecian partial up do coiffed by hairstylist Evanie Frausto.
Make-up artist Nadia Tayeh fully contoured Bella's complexion for the Costume Institute benefit.
Meanwhile Irina opted for a grungy biker look in a striking leather ensemble.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, is considered by many as the 'Super Bowl of celebrity red carpets.'
Fashion's biggest night is traditionally held the first Monday in May to raise money for the Costume Institute in New York City, with last year's event moved to September due to the pandemic.
This year's dress code was 'gilded glamour' to match the theme of 'In America: An Anthology of Fashion,' a continuation of last year's 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.'
Sheer: She had her figure on display in the number which was covered in silver detailing and glitzy sections
Sorry but there is no way that Lila can be classed...

STEAMY photos of potential first lady Melania Trump have emerged, as Donald ramps up his race for president. WARNING: Nudity.
DONALD Trump thinks his wife will be a model first lady — and here’s the proof.
Decades before she was sporting designer dresses on the stage of the Republican National Convention as Mrs Trump, Melania Knauss posed nude in a photo spread for a now-defunct French men’s magazine, The New York Post has learned.
The Slovenian-born model — then aged 25 and known by her professional moniker Melania K — did the steamy photo session in Manhattan in 1995, according to Alé de Basseville , the French photographer who shot the sexy snaps.
Today's cover: Melania Trump like you've never seen her before https://t.co/wkoDGWTF9g pic.twitter.com/V375rBTUEw
The images, some rarely seen and others never published, were obtained exclusively by The New York Post.
The bombshell photos show Melania wearing nothing but high heels and pouting for the camera, in a series of images shot from the front, the back and the side.
“Melania was super-great and a fantastic personality and she was very kind with me,” de Basseville said, adding the former model never once felt uncomfortable posing for the nude pictures.
Melania’s sexy photo spread appeared in the January 1996 issue of Max , a French men’s magazine that went out of business in 2006.
“I was quite surprised when I saw the pictures because it was ... a racier shoot than I expected,” said a fashion-industry insider who was present for one of the photo sessions.
“But Melania seemed very comfortable with the whole thing, and she was very professional.”

For de Basseville, the inspiration for the pictures was the Renaissance and a celebration of the female body.
“I think it is important to show the beauty and the freedom of the woman, and I am very proud of these pictures because they celebrate Melania’s beauty,” he said.
At the time of the shoot, Melania had just recently arrived in New York City from modelling stints in Paris and Milan, Italy.
In Gotham she was booked for mostly commercial work and was later featured in an ad for Camel cigarettes, the source said.
When asked about the photos, Trump told The New York Post : “Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common.”
In 1998, Melania was introduced to Trump during a New York Fashion Week party at the Kit Kat club hosted by Paolo Zampolli, who was then representing Melania through his company ID Model Management.
The two wed in 2005 in a ceremony at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
