Light will rise in price again
Premier Energy Distribution and FEE-Nord have asked the National Energy Regulatory Agency to raise electricity tariffs. Although prices have already been raised recently, we have been paying more since the beginning of November. Residents of the country have not yet paid for winter heating, and companies are already short.
— Premier Energy requests to increase the tariff to 6.39 lei per 1 kWh (it will become more expensive by 1.62 lei). FEE-Nord proposes to increase the tariff from 4.81 to 5.68 lei per kWh. Light prices may rise in the coming months. Companies attribute the price increase to higher distribution tariffs and low energy sales.
The main problem remains the same: Moldova provides itself with less than half of its electricity, and we have to buy the rest from abroad, mainly from Romania. In winter, we have to purchase up to 62% of electricity.
We depend on supplies, we cannot provide for ourselves. The authorities admit that they cannot do anything about the fact that we may face a shortage of electricity. As a result, the prices of electricity for our residents depend on the tariff at which Romania wants to sell us electricity.
