Sometimes when I laugh hard, I become very light headed and feel as if I am about to pass out. This usually happens when I laugh spontaniously. What can cause this.

Hi Gary
Some people have a sensitive vagus nerve and can get dizzy or even faint when laughing, coughing or straining on the toilet. It is usually not dangerous unless you really pass out when this happens. It is important to go to your doctor and exclude any underlying heart disease like an abnormal rythm or a leaking heart valve though. He can do this with an ECG and physical heart examination.

I'm lightheaded allllll the time! Have been for years. I often say that if the cops ever pulled me over, I could never pass the drunk driving test because I'm so dizzy all the time.

I remember the first time I told a doc that I was dizzy several years ago. He looked at my sideways and quite suspiciously asked, "Sooooo, you're dizzy allllll the time?" Child, I said, "Nope. It was a mistak
I went to bed late last night, Mrs. Bias kept me up waaaaaaaaay past my 930 bedtime, lol. Naw, I had energy for some reason even went to pick my man's brother up from Walter Reed at 1 a.m. lol. (he got hurt in Iraq and has been there since December -- I get him most weekends). Why put off later in the day what I had energy to do at 1 a.m. Oh yeah, add that to the list of things to do when you c
Approximately 5 years ago my GP found an abnormality during an x-ray for back problems. It was diagnosed by a specialist soon after that I had Sarc but I was asymptomatic so I just carried on with life.

6 months ago I went in the ER with an extremely elevated BP of 175 (my normal is 123/75) and a feeling of weightlessness and the "bed spins". The ER doc said it was anxiety. Things seemed ok unt
Balance issues are hard to deal with, it makes us wonder "should I stand up, or stay here in the chair"? Who has balance issues any way? Is it just the elderly?....not necessarily so, even though perhaps we think we have the corner on that market, but, quite often bad balance is brought on by many of the meds we take, and, the diseases we have, and can happen at any age.

Whatever the reason.
What is your criteria for saying "I had a good day"? Let's face it....we do not want to go to sleep thinking that it was a "useless day", because every day has some redeeming factors! Maybe you didn't dig up the garden, or scrub down the whole house...but...that is no reason to declare the day a lost job! Maybe that which you did do seems small, but.....look for that small thing, be glad you d

Weird as that may sound.

I'm new here, and have been reading topics all over the place before saying too much.

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people seem to share the same symptoms, and they have been occuring for quite some time. As I have a review coming up, I was hoping you could all share a list of your symptoms for two reasons. 1) I would like a complete list for when I am ch
I remember when I used to be able to have a conversation without coughing. I really miss those days. The sad part is, I teach. :( I've had to learn how to control the coughing.
Hi people,

Since 2008 I have been getting SOB using large groups of muscles. I am usually OK inside, but if I go outside and walk or work in the garden I need a chair nearby because I get very faint. The more work I do, the quicker the faintness comes on and the heavier my legs get until I begin to start catching my toes and stumbling.

I have wondered if it was a blood pressure thing, a d
I have been searching the web for several weeks now trying to find others who have my symptoms. And FINALLY today I found one that was posted from 2008 about the brain not fuctioning right.
I saw my dr a month ago because of the headaches I've been getting. The more sever ones put me down for a day, leaving me feel nausus, and the only way to get rid of it is to sleep it off. Haven't found
How the Grinch Restored Christmas

My son has entered his teenage years and thus, my wife and I are customarily becoming more “stupid” by the moment. We are also so intolerably “un-cool” that we must duck under the dashboard of our car and drive the last 1000 yards headless when we drop the little bugger off in front of the mall. We may reveal our hideous selves after the all-clear has b
Hi, everyone. At the risk of sounding like I blame EVERYTHING on sarcoid, I had a new symptom recently. Vertigo, and it is NOT a nice feeling. I mean, if I am going to feel drunk, I'd at least like the music and conversation with good friends that tends to go with that for me. :-) Does anyone have any ideas on what to do to make it quit without going to see the doctor yet again? I have taken anti
At first I was just relieved to finally know what was going on with me. I understood that sarcoidosis, not being in the lungs but primarily the neuro type would be difficult to diagnose. However, the more I see how many of the symptons I suffered from for years and got no relief from are things so many of you experienced...I'm a little irked. Has anyone else felt this? For years I had doctors
I'm 1 to agree with this. Even though i had been dxed with this illness just over a year ago. I have been going through a lot of sicknesses that's related to sarc for 17 odd years. I'm trying to gather information that will help some us with disability decisions. Maybe, even help with public awareness. At least, i'm hoping for this to happen. May i have your input?

Love,Markell

Ok this is gonna sound weird but here it goes... Have any of you ever experienced feeling light headed or almost passing out from laughing really hard??? I have done this several times but have never asked anyone, last night I was laughing so hard at a commercial that I got lightheaded and things went dark for a split second and then I took a couple deep breaths an was good?? My kids think its funny, everytime I laugh hard I start coughing and they say "don't make mom laugh, you gonna kill her" I know I can't be the only person who has ever had this happen, by the way I do have pulmonary sarcoid.

YES! I have had this happen many times. I don't have the coughing but yes, things do get black like I am passing out. Sometimes, I even see stars before things start to go black. I don't know what causes this but it is such a weird feeling. I'm not sure it is related to the sarc as I have had this to happen many years before being diagnosed with sarc. If anyone knows the cause, I would be interested in hearing about it.
Yes, but I had this even before sarcoidosis. Probably because frequent laughter empties the lungs of more air than they take in.
I could see that... And would assume that an individual with Pul sarcoid who possibly does not have that great of pulmonary function anyway could possibly have issues like this, I mean I do have shortness of breath normally anyway and trouble taking in a good deep breath alot of times so it does make sense, oh my goodness I can't imagine trying to watch a hilarious comedy, hahahaha
