Lewis Carroll Nudes
Only four photos in which the child subject is fully nude survive. You can find many of Carroll's pictures here. Since we're talking about Carroll's pictures of children, you can find almost all of them here, including the four nude portraits, two of family friend Evelyn Hatch, one of her sister Beatrice, and one of the Henderson siblings.
Over 3000 photographs were taken by Carroll, but only 1000 have survived due to the passage of time and deliberate destruction. He also photographed children in every possible costume and situation, eventually making nude studies of them.
At any rate the nude photos and plates were returned to the families of the subjects or destroyed on his death. It was long thought that none survived. But then four turned up. For this we can thank Morton Cohen, who unearthed the photos and published them in his Lewis Carroll: A Biography (1995).

The kids swam naked (no swimming costumes in those days and living in families that might be well over a dozen members, in perhaps two rooms, probably had a very difference sense of modesty and privacy anyway). The local clergy objected to the photograph because they believed it was inappropriate to allow ladies to see male nudity!

Just over half of these images are of children, and about 30 depict nude or semi-nude children. Lewis Carroll took this photograph of Alice Liddell when she was 6 years old.
Both Lewis Carroll and Sally Mann experiment with visions concerning childhood. Just as Carroll is the patriarch for the Liddell sisters, Mann serves as the matriarch for her three children, whom she so famously photographed. Another similarity both photographers share is the controversy they were subjected to with the release of their photographs. In 2006,…

The Dodgson family was certainly aware of the countless little girls who were Lewis Carroll's frequent companions. Late in 1899, in the magazine LITERATURE, Wilfred Dodgson wrote a letter clarifying the magazine's description of Isa Bowman as Carroll's "adopted niece": "As a matter of fact, my brother had almost a mania for 'adopting' nieces." He also wrote, "I believe I am under the mark in ...

I'm a lot older than the average Redditor. Back in the early 1970s, it was not uncommon to see a commercially published book of the nude photographs that Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) took of Alice Liddell when she was somewhere between the age of 7 and 11, give or take, as I recall.
