Police were called by two horrified mothers to Pilton Park in Barnstaple after they saw Martina Loosemore and her friend Anita Hare having sex with each other
A woman who horrified families by taking part in a drunk lesbian tryst in a public park has been jailed .
Martina Loosemore originally received a suspended sentence for the outdoor romp last year - but after failing to address her drinking problem she was hauled back into court.
Police were called by two horrified mothers to Pilton Park in Barnstaple last year after they saw Loosemore and her friend Anita Hare having sex with each other on a park bench.
Loosemore stripped off her lower clothing and started touching and performing a sex act on the other woman on a sunny afternoon in July.
Officers found the two drunken women on the ground performing sex acts on each other with their shorts off.
During a hearing at Exeter Crown Court Loosemore sobbed uncontrollably in the dock as she was jailed for six months for the indecency offence and an earlier conviction for brandishing a knife.
Loosemore, aged 32, of Market Street, Ilfracombe, admitted breaching a suspended sentence, reports Devon Live .
The sentence represents part of the nine month suspended sentence she received for the knife offence and the three months she got for the Pilton Park arrest.
Recorder Mr Malcolm Gibney told her: "The fact is that, of your own volition, you have failed to comply with the community elements of this order and have caused significant difficulties for the probation service.
"I'm afraid the time has come to start doing something about it all. I give you credit for the work you did and hope you take advantage of the support available to you in custody."
Mr Gareth Evans, prosecuting, said Loosemore received a nine month suspended sentence in March 2016 for brandishing a knife during a confrontation in Yeo Valley Road, Barnstaple.
She received the second sentence of three months for outraging public decency in the incident in Pilton Park in July 2016.
She was subject to an alcohol rehabilitation requirement but failed to attend a series of meeting with probation and the addiction service Rise.
He said: "There has been a litany of failures, particularly this year. She is either unwilling or incapable of accepting the help that has been offered to her."
Miss Francesca Whebell, defending, said the missed appointments happened at a time when she was drinking, moving address frequently, and living a chaotic lifestyle.
She has now found stable accommodation at a hotel in Ilfracombe which will enable her to re-engage with probation and start working with Rise to tackle her drinking.
Hare, aged 45, of St Georges Road, Barnstaple, was dealt with separately by magistrates last year
