A MUM and her 19-year-old daughter have admitted that they still shower together in TLC’s sMothered.
Mary, 55, and Brittani, 19, from Jensen Beach, Florida do everything together, including shopping, cosmetic surgery, sharing a bed at night and showers in the mornings.
Mary, who works in a tailor shop, refers to her daughter as “the love of my life.”
She says: “I don’t believe I set out to have a relationship this close to Brittani, it’s something that was supposed to be.”
In a clip from the new series, the pair who describe themselves as having a “spiritual connection” can be seen indulging in their daily routine.
As she steps in the shower Mary can be heard saying “Ah that feels good!”
Mary can be seen scrubbing her daughter’s back while telling her she needs a tan because she’s “so white.”
Britanni, who still lives with her mum because Mary would die of “separation anxiety”, has been showering with her since she was five.
Speaking on the show Brittani says: “When my mom does simple things like washing my hair or washing my body it makes me feel comforted.”
“The best way to start our day is in the shower” says Mary, adding, “I love her and I don’t see anything wrong with it.”
While some might see the mother-daughter relationship as a little odd, Mary says she actually thinks other people are the weird ones.
Speaking to the New York Post she said: “There’s so many mom and daughters out there that aren’t close — and if they think it’s weird, it’s because they’re not close.”
Brittani admits that her own friends find her strong bond with her mum a little unusual, but that doesn’t matter to her.
She told The Post: “It’s my mom, she’s my No. 1 friend, I can tell her anything.”
Mary admits that her tight-knit relationship with her daughter has caused some tension with her live-in boyfriend Frank, but says he just has to accept it.
She adds: “It has caused some issues in my relationship, but he’s got to accept it, that’s how it is. He knows I love him, but I love my daughter more — she’s my life.”
sMothered S2 premieres in the UK on August 4 th on TLC.

It's always awkward to join a new workplace, especially one where people have worked together in a close-knit group for five years already. But it can always be worse: Hannah Simone 's first scene with New Girl 's newest addition, Megan Fox , took place in the shower. And one of them was naked.
When E! News' Kristin Dos Santo s stopped by the Fox comedy's set for a celebration of the show's 100th episode, stars Simone and Fox dished on their risqué first scene together.
"In our first episode we shot together they threw us in the shower together, so we got to know each other pretty quick," Simone says of their interesting introduction."Cece and Reagan, Megan's character, have a bit of a past."
Says Fox, "She was not in much. I was in pajamas, but she was, I think, naked under a towel. She definitely was naked under a towel. That's what we should say, right? So people get excited?"
Interestingly, the guys in the cast didn't even know such a scene existed—but maybe they were kept from set for good reason. "If that happened, we were not invited to set," Max Greenfield says of the apparently top-secret shoot.
Lamorne Morris was not happy when he found out from E! that said scene took place, and had one choice word in particular for the show's publicist, as you can see in the video above.
Fox is dropping by the sitcom for five episodes as pharmaceutical rep Reagan, who sublets Jess' ( Zooey Deschanel ) room while she's sequestered on jury duty. In real life, Deschanel took a few months off for maternity leave after giving birth to daughter Elsie Otte r this summer.
She and Fox, a mom of two young boys, both dished on balancing work and family time as new mothers. "When you're holding your little baby, you're like, I don't want to go to work! This is the best thing ever. But it's nice, I think, having a little girl—she knows her mommy works and I think that's a good thing," Deschanel says.

A mother and her 19-year-old daughter have revealed their rather unusual morning washing routine, which involves taking a shower together
When you're young, your parents help you do almost everything, including bathing and washing your hair.
But as you grow older, you become more independent and are able to do these tasks on your own.
However one mother has revealed she never stopped washing her daughter, who is now 19 years old, reports The Daily Star.
The 55-year-old American parent, known only as Mary, appeared on TLC's reality TV show sMothered where she admitted to showering with her teenage daughter, Brittani, each morning.
Mary and Brittani live together in Jensen Beach, Florida and they say that their joint showers are the "best way to start the day".
In a clip from the show, Brittani can be seen getting into the shower.
Shortly after she turns on the water, Mary strips off and enters the shower, saying: "Move over honey".
The mum then begins to shampoo her daughter's hair, before washing her back, using a loofah.
She tells the teen: "You need to tan or something, honey. You're so white."
Mary says she's been taking showers with her daughter since the young woman was five.
In her opinion, she doesn't see anything wrong with it.
She explained: "I have been taking showers and helping Brittani since she was five.
"I’m just a doting mum! I don't believe I set out to have a relationship this close to Brittani, it's something that was supposed to be."
Brittani added that she really enjoys her mum's help in the shower and that she has no intention of moving out anytime soon.
"When my mom does simple things like washing my hair or my body, it makes me feel comforted," she said.
"I’m only 19, I haven't moved away. If that was the case, she would probably die from separation anxiety."
These two aren't the only mother and daughter on the show who have an unbelievably close bond.
Other episodes saw another young woman take her mother on a date with her.
Similarly, a woman named Kathy and her daughter Christine showed off their relationship in which they have no boundaries and were quite happy to gossip about the size of their lovers' penises and share tips on how to spice things up in the bedroom.
