A 28-year-old arts teacher from a Perth school is facing up to 20 years behind bars after pleading guilty to 48 sex offences against two of her female students.
Australian media outlet The Weekend West revealed that the young female teacher working at a southern suburbs school used to take her pupils on trips to the beach and carried out lesbian relationships with them for over two years.
The abuser, whose name has been hidden to protect the identities of her victims, has lost her job after she was arrested in July last year. She has now been put on an Education Department blacklist. This week, she pleaded guilty to a series of sexual offence allegations against her including the charges relating to a third girl.
“The teacher was dismissed by the Department of Education shortly after,” Mike Cullen, acting executive director professional standards and conduct, revealed.
She had only been teaching in the school since 2013 and, according to the newsletters from the teacher’s former school, frequent trips to the beach and forest were a core part of her responsibilities, along with hosting photography and graphic design workshops. However, it was the activities she hosted with the students outside of the school premises that raised eyebrows and led the police to launch an investigation in the middle of last year, specifically after one of the girls made allegations to the school that she had previously been “in a relationship” with the teacher.
The Rockingham Magistrate’s Court was informed that the first victim was aged between 16 and 13 at the time of the offences and, over 16 months, the teacher dealt with that victim, beyond which she also sexually penetrated her 10 times. The second student, who was 16 at the time, was indecently dealt with and sexually penetrated 14 times in 2017.
Around 23 more charges were filed in relation to the third victim. “Police prosecutors in conjunction with the investigating officer reviewed the evidence and made a decision to amend numerous charges, as well as discontinue several charges,” they said. “The facts of the discontinued charges are being used to support the most serious charge of persistent sexual conduct of a child under 16, which carries a punishment of 20 years.”

A newlywed former California high school teacher was busted for having a lesbian affair with one of her students, according to a new report.
Camryn Zelinger was taken away in handcuffs by police from Encore High School for the Arts in Riverside, Calif., where she had worked until Monday’s arrest, KTLA news reported .
She was tossed into the county jail on charges of suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age.
Zelinger, 32, was canoodling with the female student for a “few months” before the victim’s mother got wind of it and reported the allegations to the Riverside Police Department, according to KTLA.
The one-time performing arts teacher was also sending inappropriate “communications” to the victim, who was either 14 or 15 years old, the station said.
Concerned parents told KTLA that Zelinger was “recently married” and “would send requests to other teachers to have them remove the female student out of class so the two of them could spend time together.”
One parent said she never saw any red flags.
“The way she is and the way she interacts with the children, you would never suspect. You would never think she would do something like that,” Tiffany Florez told KTLA.
Zelinger had previously worked at the Orange County School of the Arts and Lola Mae Performing Arts, according to her LinkedIn page.

After the alleged affair with the second student came to light she initially was faced 5 years in prison but the sentence was suspended and reduced to just probation.
Carrie McCandless was a former cheerleading coach at Brighton Charter High School. She was arrested following her conviction for having sex with an underage male student during a sleepover class camp trip to Estes Park, Colorado. The 17-year-old student and the female teacher drank alcohol, kissed and fondled one another. In November, after the inappropriate relationship revealed McCandless was fired from her teaching job and was sentenced to 45 days in prison.

Daughdrill is now facing charges of sexual battery, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, kidnapping, indecent behavior with a juvenile and contributing to delinquency.

The student who was 17 at the time protested the arrest and admitted he was the initiator of the relationship and not Glide.
Michelle Preston was a teacher and cheerleading coach at Shawnee Missions West High School. She was fired when her naked pictures circulated among students. It is known that the pictures were from three male students who she contacted through Facebook for sexual relations. Preston admitted to having sex with at least two of her students. Preston may not serve any prison time. Instead, she placed on probation and have to register as a sex offender.
25-year old Rebekah Todd served 6 months in jail for sleeping with a 17-year old male student while attending an off-campus high school graduation party.
21-year old substitute teacher Teresa Engelbach was arrested for having over a 2-month sexual relations with a 14-year old student after the student reported their affair to another teacher.
28-year old Haeli Wey was a high school math teacher in Texas when she was arrested for having sexual relations with 17-year old students during a ‘Christian training program.’ Although the students were 17, Texas prohibits any relationships between student and teacher.
