There are a lot of webcomics out there which include gay cast members. GLBT themes tend to be handled a lot more sympathetically and believably, and are covered a lot more often (no publishers to fight) online. Some that focus on lesbians as the main characters are linked below. They're a mixture of beautiful to borderline r-rated, shades of manga-ish and cartoonish to artistic and realistic (Blue is especially lovely, art-wise), humorous (Mundane Nirvana is brilliant, even if it leaves you hanging) to serious. A lot of them are short, a few are abandoned (but still worth reading) and some are long-running 'professional' webcomics.
The best known is probably Yu Me and I Was Kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space, both by Megan Rose Gedris (check out her LPFOS spin-off novella Crazy For Her and her Guide to Writing Gay Characters) but there are a fair few more.
As the webcomics are all free, I really strongly suggest you check them out - and if you like the look of any, please consider buying the books, as most of these artists had to self-publish and work their fingers off, every step of the way.
If you're interested in buying a copy and supporting one of these artists (most webcomics are published by people trying to do it for themselves, usually still in school or university, and it's a huge leap to make it into print!) then I've listed the first books in each published series. If you're looking for manga and graphic novels, then check out the Yuri Manga and Lesbian Graphic Novels pages!
Please consider buying some of these books, as you will be supporting self-publishing semi-starving lesbian and queer-friendly artists.

@anonymous: Ha, yeah. I feel like they just went 'oh let's do a genderswap comic' and then realised too late that if it's the entire comic, it's not just silly comic genderswap, it's plunging right into real trans issues. I mean, there IS a difference between 'person who was X is suddenly outwardly Y' and 'person is X inside, but is outwardly Y', at least in the adjustment phase. But once the initial shock is over, it gets into very grey territory (especially the 'live as they are now or try to change [back]' issue).
(and re: misfile... no, it really doesn't. and frankly the [male, surprise surprise] author has handled gender stuff really badly and skeevily. I mean really, writing a character who's '~a man trapped in a woman's body~' and then trying to distance himself from actual trans people's take on it? Not to say that all male authors are bad, far from it.)
I've only heard of and read Girly before finding this article. But thanks for posting this list! I'll be doing a lot of reading now. :D

[Image Description: A digital i mage of Namaari and Raya. Namaari is sitting, writing a letter, and holding a letter in the other hand. Raya is behind Namaari, with her arms wrapped around Namaari’s shoulders. There are hearts al aroudn the two of them.Namaari is saying “You’re clinging to me.” “And?” Raya replies .“I’m doing something…” Namaari says “What?” Raya responds. “Raya.” Namaari says. “Shut up. I know you like it binturi.” Raya says. End ID.]
I’ve been thinking lately about selfishness and giving. There’s a lot of unhealthy expectations set on women specifically sometimes from very young ages that can be very damaging to their future relationships with other people and their ability to ask for the things they want.
For someone who has spent their life taking care of other people it can even feel immoral to have needs and wants from those same people.
Anyways, it can be really freeing to finally be in a place and time where you can make demands and set standards and decide your own rules for how you’d want to live but there’s still a little grit in the back of your brain about what that means about you and you’re horrified at the idea that you’d put someone else in the situation that you’d been in.
But then she speaks and she tells you she wants you and that she wants your want and you feel safe and calm and peace.
Raya and Namaari life changing journey when?
More of this crack ship since you guys liked it too <3
It’s MY blog and I get to choose the crossover ships 😤💖💜
