Available on Netflix, the hit Polish erotic thriller 365 Days has taken the world by storm, and fans looking for more should check out these films.
The Polish film 365 DNI , or 365 Days in English, has been a massive success since getting a wide release on Netflix in 2020. Many fell quickly for the charms of Laura and Massimo, no matter how nonsensical the story of the film actually was .
While the sequel, 365 Days: This Day has now been released, it still isn’t enough for fans, many of whom are now looking for similarly steamy mainstream films to indulge their need for more from this ever more popular sub-genre. While nothing out there presents exactly the same style as 365 Days has adopted, there are many similar films that have been released over the past ten years outside the polish thriller and the Fifty Shades of Grey series.
Lars Von Trier’s epic two-part film is filled with sexual scenes as a woman called Joe recounts the many stories of her sexual escapades over the years. While the cast may be much more well-known than many of these similarly exotic films, there is nothing lost in the steaminess of the many scenes with a sexual nature throughout.
Nothing in the realm of sexual experience is left out of the story of Joe. While there are many sickening and disreputable things Joe does and admits to doing throughout the movies, the intrigue of putting these things to screen is what made it such an experience that retains a unique place in cinema as a romantic film that isn't about people ending up together or happy.
After is less preoccupied with explicit scenes and focuses more on the loving, tumultuous relationship between the young, inexperienced Tessa and bad boy Hardin. While the book this adaptation came from was originally a fan fiction about One Direction, that hasn’t limited the film's success. After all, many of the most generic rom-coms are great ones .
Whether the film’s writing is up to scratch is up for debate amongst fans and critics, but if anyone hasn’t seen it yet, then it is still a good time to get on the hype train as another two sequels and a prequel are planned for the franchise. Fans certainly can’t get enough of this story and there are plenty of steamy scenes to please 365 Days fans as well.
While The Voyeurs is somewhat of a turn away from the exact style of 365 Days , this story about a young couple becoming obsessed with their neighbors' sex life will thrill fans all the same. Sydney Sweeney and Justice Smith star as a young woman who can’t take her eyes off another couple, and her increasingly concerned boyfriend.
While The Voyeurs relies more on the thriller aspect and only has a few steamier scenes, it deals with the fascination with taboo sex that some fans of films like 365 Days might be able to relate to. The twists and turns that the film takes along the way are intriguing and will keep audiences hooked until the end.
If audiences wish they could find something on the LGBTQIA+ side of things in cinema that was similarly filled with scenes of an explicit nature, Below Her Mouth is perfect. The film, about a young woman engaged to a man who meets a confident lesbian and falls for her, contains plenty of sex scenes and has been praised for the steaminess it brings to the screen.
While critics have panned the film as failing on a more dramatic level, fans of 365 Days should enjoy what it brings and the two characters' emotional journeys throughout. While Below Her Mouth deals with a number of LGBT tropes that are familiar, it does it knowingly and will make interesting viewing for fans of the sub-genre.
Dealing much more with modern relationships and dating apps, Newness features Nicholas Hoult and Laia Costa as a pair of millennials who meet on a dating app and begin a relationship. After they both cheat on each other, they decide to have an open relationship which turns tumultuous and begins causing arguments between them.
Filled with sexual scenes featuring the couple and each of them individually sleeping with other people, Newness deals with the emotional side of modern dating as well as the sexier side of things and will intrigue fans of 365 Days who themselves are in the midst of this modern dating culture. None of the films on this list are exactly wholesome but Newness tries to bring things to a nicer conclusion than some others above and below it.
If the European style of 365 Days is something that someone is seeking more of, Elles should be perfect. About a journalist writing an article on prostitution, this French/Polish film deals with a number of sexual and emotional topics.
The movie focuses on the interviews conducted between the journalist and two prostitutes as they recount many experiences they have had over the years and how they feel about their work. It also reveals how this later affects the journalist and her relationship with her husband. While a quieter, more contemplative film than some others included in this article, Elles does plenty in keeping the scenes steamy for viewers as well.
Starring Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan as siblings living in New York, Shame is directed by Steve McQueen and deals with sexual addiction uniquely. Fassbender stars as Brandon, a man who has frequent sex with prostitutes and watches a great deal of pornography. Brandon’s situation is shown to be terrible through the realistic depiction of how a sex addict operates.
While fans of 365 Days may enjoy this darker take on the erotic genre, Shame does deal with a number of sensitive topics that make it more difficult to watch.
A Spanish film about a complicated, intense relationship that lasts for one year, Amar deals with Laura and Carlos. The pair decide to love each other as if every day was their last together, and Laura dreams of becoming pregnant one day as she breaks away from her previous life.
While Amar focuses greatly on the relationship between these two people, it also has a great number of steamier sex scenes that audiences were thrilled by when it was first released in 2017. It's also got a similarly European vibe to 365 Days , dealing with the intensity of the sudden relationship.
Another Spanish film, Through My Window has only recently come out but deals with a couple that fans of 365 Days will absolutely love. Raquel is a teenage girl obsessed with Ares, one of the three heirs to a huge company who lives in a mansion next to her house.
When their lives become entangled, Raquel goes after what she wants, and they end up together, though a series of petty arguments slow the progress of their relationship. However, Through My Window doesn’t shy away from many moments of steamy glances which evolve by the end of the second act into the kind of steamy scenes fans of 365 Days will cherish. While it may not be one of the best recent comedies out there , it is a fun and interesting film.

365 Dni is a new Netflix release that has viewers all over the world blushing thanks to its extremely graphic sex scenes which are making 50 Shades of Grey look tame in comparison.
Titled 365 Days in English, the explicit movie is dividing viewers' opinions but garnering some strong reactions from audiences online, with some deeming it "pornographic."
Based on a Polish-language book by author Blanka Lipinska, which is said to be even more outrageous than the film, the plot follows a woman falling in love with a captor and an ensuing a steamy affair, so in other words; complete trash.
The film's sell on the streaming platform reads: "A fiery executive in a spiritless relationship falls victim to a dominant mafia boss, who imprisons her and gives her one year in love with him."
The "fiery executive" in question, is Sicilian mob boss Massimo (played by Michele Morrone) and he stars opposite Anna Maria Sieklucka as Laura, the woman he abducts.
The action kicks off a mere 10 minutes into the film when Massimo engages in oral sex with a flight attendant on a private plane, while in another concurrent scene Laura makes use of a vibrator. The camera is only millimeters from showing everything.
One fan tweeted: "#365dni is all 50 Shades tried to be but failed at!"
While another added: "okay but 365 days on netflix got me feeling some type of way."

Another scene viewers can't stop talking about occurs later on a yacht, where nothing is left to the imagination.
One viewer wrote: "The boat scene in 365 DNI...........whewww chiiiill #365days."
While another added: "i don't think anything could convince me the actors in 365 dni weren't having real sex during that yacht scene."

i don’t think anything could convince me the actors in 365 dni weren’t having real sex during that yacht scene
However, despite the humorous reactions on Twitter, some are criticizing the film for glamorizing kidnapping, with one tweet reading: "So here's the thing: 365 DNI is kind of nightmare from the whole consent angle. Dude straight up kidnaps a woman he feels entitled to."
While another Twitter user urged: "#365dni please remember that there is a huge difference between fantasy and reality. If you are a guy, pls don't get any ideas. No girl wants to be kidnapped and made to fall in love."
So here's the thing: 365 DNI is kind of nightmare from the whole consent angle. Dude straight up kidnaps a woman he feels entitled to. On the good side, she tells him he's a bastard for doing that. But of course, since this is a movie, she falls in love with him.
#365dni please remember that there is a huge difference between fantasy and reality. If you are a guy, pls don't get any ideas. No girl wants to be kidnapped and made to fall in love.
The rather uncomfortable Netflix tagline reads: "She feels suffocated in her relationship. But will she breathe new passion into her life when held captive by another man?"
The synopsis of Lipinska's book, which has yet to be translated into English, reads: "Laura, together with her boyfriend Martin and two friends, go on holiday to Sicily. On the second day of her stay, on her twenty-ninth birthday, the girl is kidnapped. The kidnapper turns out to be the head of the Sicilian mafia family, the extremely handsome young Don Massimo Toricelli.
"A few years ago, he had an attempt on his life. Shot several times, he almost died - and when his heart stopped beating, he saw a girl in front of his eyes; Laura Biel. When he was brought back to life, he promised himself that he would find the woman he saw.
"Massimo gives the girl 365 days to make her love him and stay with him."
365 Days is streaming on Netflix now.

365 DNI , known as 365 Days in the English language version of Netflix has been a hot movie since its release earlier in June . It’s so steamy, in fact, that it has both drawn comparisons to Fifty Shades of Grey while also convincing some viewers that the sex scenes are the real deal.
Seriously, a lot of Twitter users are shocked by the cinematography in the sex scenes and can’t figure out how some of the most intense shots of Massimo and Laura (Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka) were accomplished without being filmed like porn . Here’s one such comment from Twitter user Maleni Evelyn Ramos.
Others aren’t being straight up accusatory about how those sex scenes were shot, but have been a little confused online in regards to how they got those really intimate moments to look so real . According to Lauren Snowball:
Other user Ron B revealed the moment that 365 DNI really sold him on the acting during the sex scene. Note:I suppose this one features a minor spoiler if you haven’t watched the Netflix flick yet.
Unfortunately for all of these amateur sleuths on the Internet, denials that 365 Days is actually classy porn have been running around from multiple sources. In fact, lead actor Michele Morrone previously said on Instagram (via Just Jared ) that while he and his co-star strove to make the scenes really it really is just movie magic .
It seems like real because we are good actors. It wasn’t real. I know that many people write me that, ‘Oh my god, it was real!’ But at the same time, it wasn’t real. That’s impossible.
I mean, it’s not impossible for real sex to be shot on film, though it may have been impossible for the movie. Porn flicks film sexual acts all of the time, but there’s also certainly a difference between the types of releases actors sign for porn films versus what they might sign for an erotic drama in the vein of 365 Days . Lest you disbelieve Michele Morrone though, cinematographer Blanka Lipinska also said the sex scenes were meant to look as real as possible without being real, telling Variety :
We wanted the camera to be as much invisible as possible, to let them act, so indeed the takes were very, very long. We created the most intimate atmosphere we could for the actors. We reduced the on-set crew to an absolute minimum. As it was handheld I was following their action, and trying to show their passion in a natural but beautiful way. We wanted this sex to be pretty authentic. We wanted the viewer to hear their whispers, heavy breaths and we wanted to show the sweat, passion. Be natural, authentic, but not to cross the border of pornography.
Regardless, even though some people have seen the quotes and know the scenes weren’t legitimate sex, Twitter users like Sonya Cope still feel they are pretty dang believable
