Season 2, episode 4: In one of his most violent moments, Joffrey finds himself with two prostitutes in his room and the most disgusting thing he can think to do with them, uses them as living targets.
Season 3, episode 9: It was the turning point for the entire show. Just as everyone thought it was going the Starks way, they nearly all end up murdered in one of the bloodiest episodes of any TV series ever.
Season 1, episode 5: While sitting upon her throne in the Eyrie, Catelyn’s sister, Lysa, is seen breastfeeding her teenage son, Robin, causing some viewers to look away in disgust and post about it on the internet.
Season 2, episode 4: Torture is a pretty common occurrence on Game of Thrones, but none were quite a bad as this. In the scene a bucket of rats is put to a man’s chest and then heated up with a flame so they must eat through the man to escape. Terrifying.
Season 4, episode 8: Just as everything was going Oberyn Martell’s way, it all literally blew up in his face. The warrior ended up looking like a squashed watermelon in one of the most awful scenes in the entire series.
Season 2, episode 6: Beheadings: In one of the more gruesome beheadings, Theon strikes Ser Rodrick Cassel not just once but four times in the neck, finally taking it all the way off with a kick.

Lena Headey's nude body double has described the shocking 'Walk of Shame' in the Game of Thrones season five finale as "the hardest but best experience of her life".
Rebecca Van Cleave stepped in to play Cersei Lannister as she walks through Kings Landing in her birthday suit, being pelted with everything from rotting fruits to bodily fluids. Her head was then replaced with Headey's by the special effects team and she now has "naked Cersei" listed on her IMDB page .
Sounds horrific right? Fortunately, the 27-year-old actress and model found the gruelling three days of filming "wonderful".
"It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined," Van Cleave told Entertainment Weekly . "I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing."
Van Cleave felt the anticipation building the first time she undressed but found that, because the experience is such an emotional one for Cersei, she soon "checked out of the fact that you're nude".
"You're so in touch with the scene and what you're going for," she said. "It's definitely the hardest thing I've ever done but also the best experience of my life and I hope the next thing I do will have my head in it!"
Showrunners' use of a body double has attracted some criticism from viewers, particularly as in George RR Martin's books, a major part of Cersei's humiliation revolves around her having to reveal a body scarred from having borne three children.
It is believed that Headey was either pregnant at the time of shooting or, understandably, reluctant to get her kit off for such a brutal scene.
The Emmy nominee chose not to be nude "for several reasons", including wanting to focus fully on her performance, and declined to be involved in the casting process for her double.

"I was like, 'Listen guys, she happens to have a beautiful body, but I don't do casting," Headey said. "If somebody is brave enough to do this, I applaud it."
Van Cleave has defended Headey from those angry that it was not her body on screen, arguing that "it should all be about the finished product, not about whose body was where and whose head was where".
Season five came to a dramatic close on Monday night with Jon Snow's stabbing and Arya Stark's blinding among the other most climactic moments.
The hit HBO fantasy series is expected to return for season six next spring.

These days most folks know Hannah Waddingham as AFC Richmond owner Rebecca on Ted Lasso . But before joining the cast of the lighthearted Apple TV+ hit, she was unrecognizable wearing a scowl and a habit as Sister Unella on Game Of Thrones .
That’s right. The “shame” nun who tortured Cersei Lannister for a season, leading up to that infamous naked walk through King’s Landing.
But as you may recall, Lena Headey didn’t actually do that naked walk. It was a facial replacement on a body double. In Hannah’s case, her own torture scene, revenge at the hands of Cersei, was essentially just being tortured for real, or as she puts it:
“It’s quite full on being waterboarded for 10 hours — and then only one minute and 37 seconds can be used on camera.”
In a new interview with the Collider Ladies Night podcast, she reveals the original scene as scripted was quite different. The nun’s rape at the hands of the zombified Mountain, Gregor Clegane, that is insinuated at the end of the scene was originally what was actually going to be put onscreen.
Considering the show’s clumsy history of handling sexual assault scenes, one can hardly blame them for changing their minds. Unfortunately it apparently took way too long to finally get a clue, however. Hannah recalls:
“I think they’d had so many complaints about the rape of Sansa that they chose not to go with it. But, unbelievably, they changed it quite at the last minute. I think they possibly changed it while I was mid-air, flying to Belfast, because suddenly I got sent these new sides that said I would need a wetsuit top. And I thought they’d sent me the wrong bits. And sure enough when I got there, I was then put in the wetsuit top and I was like, ‘Because?’ and they were like, ‘Oh, it’s waterboarding instead.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, we’re not actually doing waterboarding?’ ‘No, no, no, we are.'”
Yeah, no faking that with CGI. Gurl had fake wine poured on her face over and over again — and she was unable to move to save herself.
“The one thing that I was really worried about, I didn’t want the strap tight around my neck, but as they pointed out if the camera can see you lifting your head up to save yourself, that’s not authentic. And it was [co-creator] Dan Weiss who came up to me and said, ‘Look, in the script, it says Cersei empties the remainder of her glass of red wine to wake up Unella. People aren’t going to think that’s enough. What you’ve put the character through, her character through, that is not enough retribution for Cersei. Especially for the kind of person that she is. It needs to be more like a three-quarters full or so — if we can cheat it, even more — carafe of wine.'”
And that’s just what the scene was.
Speaking about her decision to go through with the incredibly “uncomfortable” new scene, she said:
“That’s what I mean about that moment of fight or flight… The one thing I kept thinking to myself was, the production company aren’t going to let you die, so get on with it, be uncomfortable.”
Thankfully she never felt unsafe with the crew being as respectful as it was. That is crucial. She says artists should put themselves out there for their art as long as they don’t feel unsafe. But uncomfortable ? Sure.
But how bad was it? The actress says:
“Definitely other than childbirth, it was the worst day of my life.”
She says even her torturer was having trouble with it:
“Because Lena was uncomfortable pouring liquid in my face for that long, and I was beside myself. But in those moments, you have to think, ‘Do you serve the piece and get on with it?’ Or do you chicken out and go, ‘No, this isn’t what I signed up for, blah, blah, blah.”
You close your eyes and think of Westeros, we guess!
