Five Kilometers From Leipzig is a set of solo miniatures rules for black powder skirmish actions. Take a band of 8 trusted companions and slug it out with enemy military forces, guerrillas or native warbands. Suitable for the era from roughly to , the rules allow you to play a campaign easily and quickly. The rules use a simple and straight forward combat system, combined with the solo oriented turn sequence you know from Five Parsecs From Home and Five Leagues From the Borderlands. Each turn, all of your characters get to act but the initiative roll determines who goes before or after the enemy moves, with the player assigning initiative dice as the situation demands. The game is played with 8 figures in your 'squad' initially, meaning you can get started on skirmish gaming without having to paint a mountain of figures. The rules are actively being developed in order to expand them into a fully featured rules set. It is fully playable at the moment and new updates will be forthcoming regularly. Ivan, I had noticed that you had wanted to include cavalry but since then have removed any reference to them- are they going to make a comeback in the future? Just asking since I was looking forward to having my Union Cavalry on some fun raids against the secessionists! Regardless, I am a huge fan of the game! Yeah, I want to do something thats a bit more interesting with cavalry like having their own scenarios, but I need to do some thinking first. Awesome, thank you! Version adds 'Follow On' missions allowing a mission to trigger a different mission with its own objectives. After a trillion years, I am back at it, so version just went up. This expands the Notable Incidents table to 10 entries, adds a Battle Conditions table and makes the Brawling section a bit better. Just purchased a copy to play with the small collection of Jacobites and English I have May have to borrow from Five Leagues to get stats for that one though This is super cool! Hopefully this morphed into a full fledged game. I also would would to have a squad of mounted dragoons, do I can play Calvary or infantry and maybe some option of Calvary opposition.
