I bought 6 different TMNT Lego sets here on Amazon or local store so a lot of my review for each will be very similar - TLDR version - these are great sets, buy them. I'm an old geezer that played with Legos in the late 70s and early 80s. (think space and castle) I also am a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan, recently after watching the Lego movie and picking up all my old Legos from my Mom and Dads, I got the bug to pick up some of these TMNT legos. I had a great time sticking the Shellraiser together along with the six other Lego sets I picked up. Instructions are very clear and easy to use, bags are labeled nicely and all Lego pieces were in the packages - with a couple extra of some of the smaller ones you might lose. So the big kid in my loved all new pieces I had never seen compared to my 80s Legos, That Giant tire in the back is sweet, the tires now even have sizes imprinted into them like real tires, really cool. The Lego website also has some alternative instructions on what you can build with this set, go to the TMNT products page, select Donnie's Lab and then go to the alternative build for 79104 and download the pdf for that. There are 9 total alternate builds in Donnie's Lab for different TMNT sets. Overall I am very impressed with the quality and selection of parts in the kit, I also love the attention to detail that Lego put into these new kits, plus it was nice to see that they didn't skimp on parts when they could have, even in areas were you can't physically see the Lego parts they used some to fill in areas nicely and smartly. So mine will just sit on a shelf looking cool, but I see this being a fun toy for kids of all ages. 6-99

I bought this set for myself. I'm an old Lego fan and have been recently acquiring some of the newer sets that are obviously cashing in on my nostalgia. Anyway, this set was pretty nice. The construction of the larger van was a little tricky at some points. Although I don't play with my models after construction I'm not sure how sturdy it would be if you were to crash it into a wall or some other toy in your collection. All in all I think it was worth it though. You get some nice minifigs and vehicles to add to your collection.

I have loved the TMNT since I was a child in the 80s. I was really looking forward to this set. Imagine my disappointment when I found out how poorly this set is designed. The van is a joke. The overall construction is flimsy. The wheels are attached in an odd way that makes the front end slant down, and it does not roll smoothly. The pizza van is actually very sturdy but the price you are paying does not make the set worth it. On a good note, the minifigures are great, especially Dogpound (who is currently exclusive to this set.) I own most of the other TMNT sets. Overall, I felt most of the sets were disappointing, but this one was the worst. If you can find this set on sale, it would be worth it for the figures. Otherwise, avoid this one.

This set has a lot to recommend for it. The actual builds themselves are interesting, with a variety of moving parts in the Turtle van. My kids especially enjoyed the gun on top that will actually shoot. Both vehicles are sturdy and roll well. There are also a good combination of different parts, allowing these sets to be disassembled and turned into other items.

The large wheels don't actually do the rolling, instead it rolls by smaller wheels hidden underneath. Also, the door on the side of the bus falls off easily. My child finds this unacceptable.

Comes with all the weapons and accesories you need for a fun play time. Recommended for fans of ninja turtles.

My daughter tried to build it twice and both times it was falling off when she tried to put on the wheels. I had to help her and finally did it but when she started to play, it fell off again. She almost cried. I'm going to buy something like a superglue and build this van as hard as a stone) Won't recommend this set. Waste of money.

We have many Lego sets, and this is the only one that I would strongly recommend against. It is not study enough to actually be played with, which is unfortunate as it IS an action vehicle. There are various doors and openings that break off every time they are used. The beauty of Lego is that you can put it back together, but the reality is it is not fun when you HAVE to, every time you use it. We love Lego, but I would not recommend this set.

Shipping was fast and received product before expected delivery date. The shell raiser is a fun little build and a must for those Nickelodeon TMNT fans. Wish Raphael and Donatello are included, but 2 out of 4 turtles is not bad either.

Dog pound is speeding through the city, making special deliveries of toxic ooze in his pizza delivery van. Hit the road with Leonardo and Michelangelo in the teched-out Shell raiser to stop that angry mutt. Turn the powerful LEGO Technic shooting cannon 360 degrees and open fire. Unfold the Shell raiser's side panels to reveal the computer workstation, weapons rack and skateboard. Take the pursuit off the streets and onto the railroad tracks by raising the rubber tires up to reveal track wheels. Once you've stopped Dog pound, battle on the rooftop against his minions: The Kraang and a Foot Soldier.

This set and the "Big Rig Snow Getaway" set were the last TMNT lego sets i recieved, now I own every one of them including the lego juniors turtle lair. This is by far the largest, and most complex set. There's lots of moving parts to this set, traps, sliding doors, barrel catapult. The set is split up into 3 main pieces, which you can see on the box. They can all hook together inline with a small hinged hook/hole setup at the top of the sections. The figures in this set are great looking. The movie version of the turtles have a stud on their shell, so now Leonardo has an "X" shaped holster for his swords like he's supposed to. Donatello has some night vision goggle kind of things that attach to his head, and some radio contraption that sticks to his back. The shredder is slightly different than the TV series lego version. His helmet has some coloring, and his shoulder armor is different. The splinter has the stubby "hobbit" legs, and his head is a stiff rubber, not hard plastic like the other version. And, there's a generic looking foot soldier on a dirt bike, with a gun. The set itself is far more durable than the other turtles lair, which i noticed is a trend of the movie sets with the "Turtle Van Takedown" set being nearly indestructible, while the cartoon "Shellraiser" is like a broken bottle glued together with elmers glue. This set can be played with without constantly putting it back together. My 4 year old son and I played with it for about an hour and it fared ok. Overall, I love this set. I picked it up at the reduced preorder price and never looked back. Even at full retail of 99.99 it's a great value despite being above the goal price of 10 cents/piece. There's just so much detail, and action to be had here, not to mention this is the only set that will get you the movie versions of Donatello, Shredder, and Splinter. My favorite set is the new turtles van set, by the way.

This was something my Son wanted for a birthday gift . When it came the box look kind of beat up so I wasn't sure if it was brand new but when I opened it up it was all good, the bags sealed and new etc . It also came on the date it was scheduled to arrive which I appreciate . When my Son got it on his birthday He really enjoyed it .. This is an awesome lego set!!!
