I purchased this years ago on VHS. My friends and I were shocked by it originally and always referred to the F machine. Recently I have purchased the original dubbed and edited version of the first Urotsukidoji along with the Urotsukidoji Perfect Collection - which is the original unedited OVA episodes (but only in Japanese with no dubbing). The Perfect Collection is a two disk set. I took the outside insert from the Perfect Collection and transferred it to a disk box with four inside disk mounts, adding my dubbed versions of Urotsukidoji Curse of the Overfiend, and now Urotsukidoji II Legend of the Demon Womb. Now with all four disks, I consider this the Urotsukidoji Complete and Perfect Collection (drops the microphone). I will continue on my Urotsukidoji path and buy the later ones as well - even if they are different region disks - since I have an all regions disk player. For a more in depth description of the differences between the edited and unedited versions, see my Urotsukidoji Perfect Collection review. The Format I purchased was actually DVD and not VHS.
so you all know this is the legendary anime known as urotesokidoji. most people are turned off by it because it is henti and they think it is taboo. but this is by far my favorite anime to date. it is good to see that the vhs is still out there and available on amazon. as for the video i am not satisfied. this is the mashed up edited version that was supplied to american audiences in the 90s. the true experiend lies in the seperate ovas that this one vhs is comprised of. there is alot more story and messed up stuff in the ovas. i did not realize this till i bought it watched it and did research. but it is nice to have the vhs. all in all it is a good video but lacks the full experience i got with the ovas.
My son gave me the money to purchase this item for him! It arrived and the front of the VHS case was broken. Instead of returning it, my son swapped out the front from an old VHS. The quality of the image was acceptable. Difficult to expect high quality out of old technology!
I first saw this movie in 1993 when I was 16 living in England. For decades I've searched for my own copy and i finally have it in 2019. Not kids and not appropriate for teens.
In 1944, a mad scientist named Dr. Hausen II is hellbent on experimenting in the occult for the Nazis only to find out his experiment backfires resulting him to be in the world of demons where he is transformed into an evil sorcerer. In the present day, Nagumo (aka The Overfiend) with his girlfriend Akemi await for the arrival of his cousin Takeaki who later gets in an airplane accident as Nagumo gives him a blood transfusion that would give his cousin the powers of a semi-Overfiend. Takeaki falls in love with Megumi but is soon to be a pawn in Dr. Hausen II's game for satanic rituals which he wants to take over the 3 realms but can Negumo and Amano stop his power? Entertaining and enjoyable sequel to the controversial 1987 cult Japanese animated horror fantasy sex-gore epic that kind of discards that apocalyptic ending of the last movie for a different continuity. Sure the action sequences are weak this time but the sex scenes are harder this time and quite realistic despite being animated, the gore is disgusting as usual and the story is complex almost like the first one but this is a more raunchier and more ballsier sequel.
My real manga experience started with the first Urotsukidoji...It was perfect in every way. I loved it..But what the is this!!!!! Its terrible..What happened to the real true art???? I couldnt understand.. I know these remarks are very harsh..But believe me I have some taste..And this movie is disgusting..Even the perfectly balanced and artistic sex scenes in the first movie are gone!!!!! I cant talk anymore it makes me sick..But please do yourself a favour and dont buy this!

The second installment focuses mainly on the machinations of Faust Münchhausen II in his plot to revive the Kyō-Ō (Evil King), an ancient malevolent being whose existence is said to predate even the legend of the Chōjin (Overfiend) by a whole millennium (4,000 years). Münchhausen desires revenge against all humanity after his father, a scientist employed by the Third Reich, was executed for failing to summon the Kyō-Ō before Adolf Hitler himself, and requires Kyō-Ō's power to enact said vengeance and kill the Chōjin. Alongside the rogue majin (demon) Kohōki, Münchhausen sets his eyes on the Kyō-Ō's current host Takeaki Kiryū, who happens to be the cousin of the Chōjin's host Tatsuo Nagumo, and begins to orchestrate the former's downfall in order to bring about Kyō-Ō's awakening. Megumi Amano also takes a more central role as she slowly develops romantic feelings for Takeaki that ultimately culminates in a tragic battle atop the Shinjuku Skyscrapers, in which her brother Amano Jyaku also becomes embroiled.
Both Legend of the Demon Womb and Legend of the Overfiend were both dubbed in 1992 under Central Park Media's Anime 18 label, the division being originally made solely to release the two titles. The dubs were based off of the theatrical editions of the series which left 45 minutes overall of the graphically sexual content removed. Even then, however, the majority of the American dubbers found the material so repulsive that they were credited with pseudonyms.
