Legacy Swim Team Produces Four Regional Qualifiers

The Legacy High School swim team has produced four regional qualifiers from the district championship meet, which is the highest number of regional qualifiers in the programme history and the specific outcome that head coach Diana Park has been building toward in her third year with the programme. The four qualifiers -- two male and two female -- qualified in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 freestyle, the 100 butterfly, and the 200 freestyle relay respectively.

The District Meet

The district meet produced the specific competitive environment that the Legacy swimmers had been preparing for. The regional qualifying cuts -- the specific times that the UIL establishes for advancement from the district to the regional level -- were achieved by each of the four qualifying swimmers in the event where they had the specific technical advantage that the coaching staff identified in the pre-meet preparation. The 200 freestyle relay qualifying time was the team season best by 1.8 seconds.

The Regional Competition

The regional competition will determine which swimmers advance to the UIL State Championships. The Legacy Lamppost will cover the regional results. The programme is competing at a level it has not previously reached. Go Leopards.
